This morning while walking in the cemetery, wading through the Canadian geese, I saw a deer in a grove of trees. We both stared at each other for some time. I walked on a bit, and it paralleled me. It was quite adorable.
My parents visited yesterday, rah. They brought waaaaaay too much stuff, as usual - we asked for an extra cookie sheet if they had one to spare and a hot pad or two. My mom, of course, bought two sets of three cookies sheets and a whole bunch of oven mitts / hot pads, plus three new lamps. Oh, and fancy placemats and napkins and napkin rings. WTF. I love my mother, but we do not need so much stuff. She just loves to buy us random stuff.
They brought up sweet corn from my grandparents' farm, which we ate. It was tasty. We have enough frozen corn to last us for at least a year, I think.
