So notes: We're officially at the halfway point for Part 1.The first day outing with the four trainees since ever. They were in the same class, but never really hung out. And we get a hint as to why Ami grew her hair. Though when she finally reveals the reason, it was pretty obvious. Read the previous chapters for Disclaimer. And enjoy my shitty writing.

Chapter 3
The next day, Ami was around the Colony. She had some time before she had to go to Parum, so she decided to spend that time shopping. Ami came out of the clothes shop with a new outfit. She wore a primarily light blue sleeveless top. It was long enough to end at the middle of her thights. There was a patten on the shirt, colored in a very light pink and the accents of her line shield. Underneath, she still had on a pair of black shorts. She had on a pair of black stockings and white boots. They weren't high-heeled, and they were slightly longer than her black boots. "Ami!" shouted a male. She turned to the person. "Oh, Instructor." Emil caught up with Ami. "Do we have a mission?" Emil shook his head. "No, it looks like you two will be free for a few days anyway. But I did talk with the Headmaster. He agreed that it's just about time for your training phase to be complete. If you two get your licenses, I'll buy the both of you something." He glanced at his watch. "Oh I'm going to be late." he muttered. "You have a place to go?" "Yes, I'm going on a mission on Neudaiz for about a week. So that means that the last mission you will go on as trainees will be supervised by someone else." Then he placed his hand on top of Ami's head. "Don't worry, it's someone I trust very well. And they will report to me after the mission is done." He smiled. "Now be good during that time, okay?" Ami lightly moved his hand away. "I'll be fine Instructor, since I'm hanging out with Kyoh today, I'll relay him the message." They walked together to the middle of the P.P.T floor. "Have a safe trip Instructor." Emil smiled. "And to you as well". Ami went to the left, to Parum and Emil went to the right, to Neudaiz.

"Have you guys been waiting long?" Ami asked. She was making her way to Ethan, Kyoh, and Hyuga. "Not really." Ethan replied. "Oh! Kyoh, Instructor said that we have the go ahead for our final trainee mission. But he won't be there to guide us, it will be a friend of his." Kyoh looked a little disappointed. "It'll be fine." Then he stood up. "Should get going. How about a free mission?" Ami shrugged her shoulders. "I don't particularly care."
Soon, the four were out in the plains of Parum. "So all we do is just clear the creatures that block our path? It doesn't sound hard." Ami noted. "Yeah, but if we are trying to get S rank status, then we have to do it under a minute and a half." Hyuga said. Ami switched over to her twin daggers. "Well, lets get going." She rushed ahead to a pack of Vahras that were coming out of the bushes. She spinned around clockwise, then counter-clockwise, and finally a combination of a flip, a kick and slashing upward with her weapon. Kyoh sighed as he was defeating a creature. "Already using a Renkai Buyou-zan eh?" "But it's effective in getting space when enemies are surrounding you." Hyuga noted. Ethan had just finished defeating a Distolva. Then he ran to Ami was and started slashing at them with his saber. Another group of Distolva appeared behind them. "This is getting fun." Kyoh rushed in to perform Rising Crush on them. A couple of Distolva went up in the air before hitting hard on the ground.

"What! After all that we got an A?" Kyoh nodded his head. Ami sighed out loud. "An A isn't bad." Ethan assured her. She just sighed deeper. "We'll get it next time." Hyuga said. They were still in the plains. Then a creature came out of the bush. All of them had their weapons ready. Once they saw what it was, their guard lowered. "Aww, it's a baby Koltova." Ami said. She knelt down to it. "It looks to be a month or so old." Ami reached her hand out. "Come on little one, I won't harm you." At first, the baby Koltova stepped further back. Suddenly, a Vahra lunged forward. Ami fell backwards out of shock. When she opened her eyes, Hyuga was standing in front of her, protecting her from the attack. "You okay?" She nodded. Quickly, Ami pulled out a handgun and fired an earth-element imbued photon bullet at it. Combined with Hyuga's attack, the Vahra was defeated.
Ami started to put her weapon away when Hyuga offered a hand. She accepted it and he helped her up. "That was just not right." she said while dusting her clothes off. "Oh, where did it go off to?" They all turned around. It was a female Cast. Her parts made it look like she was wearing a yellow shirt with overalls. She had a worried expression on her face. Then she looked up. "Ethan? Is that you? Do you remember me?" "Oh, it's you. How's the farm coming out?" The Cast showed a smile. "Green Greens is doing better. I still can't thank you for getting rid of the Seed." "It's our job. What are you doing out here anyway?" Her face went back into a worried expression. "I went to take the Koltova grazing when I noticed that an infant one wandered away from the group. I'm afraid something bad might have happened to it." "You mean that one?" Ami interrupted. She pointed at the small one, cowering behind a tree. The Cast's face lit up. "Yes, that's the one. Thank you so much." She went over to the tree. "Come on little one, your mother is worried about you." The baby, slowly but surely, went to the Cast. "I can't thank you guys enough for finding it for me."
After a couple more minutes of chatting, the Cast, with the Koltova went along their way. Ethan began stretching. "It's getting late, we should get back to the Colony." "I think so too." Kyoh added. It wasn't long before they were taking the G-Flyer back to Holtes City. Kyoh was driving it while Ethan was in the passenger seat. That left Hyuga and Ami to the back seats. It was silent between the two. "So we all haven't been to Matoob yet?" Ethan said. It broke Ami out of her trance. "That is odd. But I heard that place is pretty harsh. With rogues and what not. It would be perfect for a final training mission."

The group of four walked out of the Parum gate on the P.P.T floor. Kyoh and Ethan were walking ahead, discussing about weapons. "Hyuga! Hold on!" Ami said. He stopped as she caught up with him. "What is it Ami?" "I never did thank you for stepping inbetween the Vahra and me." "It was nothing really. I couldn't leave you like that." Ami's face turned red. "But still....thanks." Hyuga began walking again. then he stopped. He turned to Ami. "You know, I think you look prettier with the long hair. It would be lovely if you kept it like that."

Three more chapters to go. Next chapter begins to flesh out Hyuga's and Ami's relationship. As well as meeting a new character. I think I would consider her as a bit of comic relief. Next chapter is a bit of a time skip since I wanted to get to a point in which the actually storyline doesn't coincide just yet.
