Chapter 1
"It's been a year Emil." said Ami. The two were on a mission to examine the destroyed Hive. They were to respond to any threats that the place still had. "It has. Tell me, is everything going smoothly between you and Hyuga?" Ami's face became red at the mention. "Let's not talk about that." "Come on," said Emil. "You can tell me. I won't gossip." Ami sighed. "I don't think you have it in you anyway. Fine, everything is okay. We've been busy with our missions. Mainly it's him that leaves for missions. After all, he does work with Ethan." Then she sighed a bit. "Whenever one has some free time, the other has to go on a mission. It gets a bit stressing, since we haven't had a proper date yet." "What? I seen you two walking together in the colony." Ami shook her head. "That was to see each other off. I told you, he's pretty busy. He does work closely with the Communion of Gurhal." "Ah, he is a member right?" Ami nodded. "Lets stop talking about me. How about you Emil?" They walked through a large room. "I've requested that I not be an Instructor for a little while. After dealing with you and Kyoh, I think I deserve a little rest." They were laughing together. Emil suddenly stopped. "Emil?" He made a motion for Ami to be quiet. Ami could faintly hear a raspy laughter. Ami took out her twin daggers, Gizaha-zashi. Emil had gotten out his sword. "Be on guard." he instructed her.
Ami nodded. The laughter echoed through the area. Then a person appeared, or it looked like a person. When he walked closer, the person was a Cast. His hair was gray and slicked back. He looked to be severly damaged. He even had an arm stripped of his outer layering. "Identify yourself!" commanded Emil. The male cast was silent. "We are Guardians, this place is off-limits." The cast's eyes widened at the word 'Guardians'. Then he laughed some more. Ami switched from her daggers to a handgun imbued with light photons. "Guardians, guardians, guardians. They stopped me the first time. But I will make sure that I succeed this time." he muttered. Ami's eyes widened. "Wait? First time? Then you are Magashi? I thought Ethan got rid of you." His eyes locked into Ami's at Ethan's name. "So you know him?" He brought his hand out. Then it extended, intended to hit Ami. She closed her eyes to brace for the impact.
She clearly heard it impacting with some flesh, but she couldn't feel it. When Ami opened her eyes, she was looking at Emil's back. It was impaled by Magashi's arm. "Emil!!" She shouted. Magashi withdrew his arm and laughed as Emil fell to the ground. "Why you-!" Ami started to fire the gun at him. He avoided it while he was attacking Ami. She rolled out of the way, but not before his arm struck her arm. That's when she managed to get a shot at his chest. He smirked, while holding his wound. "So now it begins." he said. He got up and started to walk away. Ami would have chased after him, if it wasn't for the fact that Emil was on the ground bleeding. She equipped her one-hand staff and performed Giresta on Emil. She became shocked when the technic was doing very little to the wound. She had managed for the blood to stop flowing out, but his heavier breathing was not reflecting it. She pressed a button on her commlink. "This is Satomora. We had a casuality here, requesting a medic team. And please hurry, I don't know how long he can hold out." Ami took off Emil's glasses and placed them in her pocket. "Don't worry Emil, we'll get you safe."

Ami stood out in the hallway of the medical center emergency room. Kyoh was sitting on one of the benches. "No way, Emil though?" She nodded. He had a sullen look on his face. "He would have died if you didn't do a restorative technic so soon. I'm relieved." Ami nodded again. "It wasn't your fault Ami." "I know." she finally said, "If he didn't dive in, I would be the one in there right now." The nurse came out of the room. "Prescott has stablized. But he will need to stay here for a while." Ami and Kyoh nodded. "Can we see him?" she asked. "Not right now." said the nurse. "He needs as much rest as he can get." As soon as the nurse left, Ami and Kyoh were silent again. Then Kyoh stood up. "I'm heading back to the barracks. You coming?" Ami shook her head. "Not right now. I'll go in a bit." Kyoh placed his hand on her shoulder. "You need some rest too. This is not your fault. Emil chose to dive in and take the attack." He let her go and left the building.
For a couple hours, Ami sat on the bench of the emergency room. Mainly to think about the events that transpired. "You're still here?" Ami took the hot drink and looked up. "Hyuga..." she said. "I came back as soon as I heard what happened." "Yeah, it was bad." "Were you injured?" She took a quick glance at her arm Magashi managed to injure. She had bandaged it up before the team arrived. The last thing Hyuga needed was to worry about a little scratch on her. "No, I'm fine." "I passed by Kyoh on my way here. He told me what happened." Then, Hyuga looked to be in deep thought. Then he shook his head. "Ami, take a couple days off. This has obviously shaken you up." Ami half nodded. "Yeah." Hyuga offered his hand. "Come on, I'll walk you back." She took his hand and the two began to walk back.
As they walked back, Ami stayed quiet. Then she stopped. "It was him." Hyuga stopped a couple feet ahead of her. "Who?" "That cast, Magashi." "I figured as such." he replied. "I thought he was dead." She looked at him. "He looked to be severely damaged, but he was still fast enough to dodge most of my shots. You know more about him, don't you?" He nodded. "But I am under orders to not say anymore." he replied. "I understand. But please, can't you get someone to investigate further into this." "I'll try. But actually Ethan has a better shot than I do." "Thanks." she said. Then Ami smiled. Hyuga smiled back. They stopped at the barracks. "Later then." Hyuga said. "Yeah, later"
Ami walked into her room. A green sphere-shaped machine greeted her at the door. "Welcome back Ami." it said in a feminine voice. "Thanks Megami." she said. Ami took a seat at her terminal. "What's the matter? You seemed stressed." Megami, her partner machine, noted. "I'm fine, just a very tiring day. Once I type up this report, I'll go to sleep." A few minutes into it, Megami said, "Oh! I have recieved a message from 'Mama'." Ami put the report on minimize. "Please transfer it to my terminal." There were a couple buzzes then a beep. "So she stopped using text and now using audio." Ami clicked the play button on the message. "Ami, are you well? It's getting easier day by day to realize that you are a Guardian now. I hope that your workload is easier, now that the Seed are gone. I think your father is starting to show that he misses you too. Just the other day, he stared into your room. How is your personal life? Just because you are a Guardian, it doesn't mean that you can just ignore the fact that you are a girl. I was hoping that you settle down and find a nice boyfriend." Ami stopped the message there. Then she started recording back. "Mama, I'm fine. Really I am. The work has been easier, somewhat. And I'm perfectly fine with my personal life." For a moment she considered in whether or not telling her about Hyuga. She shook her head. "Not yet, it's not really official yet anyway." Then she continued, "I know that you hope for all these things for me. But I'm really happy with what I am doing now. Yes, it gets stressful, but during all that time I've never considered quitting. I do this because I want to protect you, Papa, and everyone else. So please, do not worry so much. And thank you." She sent the message. Soon, Ami got back to typing up the report. Then she sent it. Ami got up from her chair and took off her nanotransformer. She laid on the bed with her body suit. She tried to sleep, but the scene of Emil falling to the ground played in her head over and over again. Ami sat up in the bed. "I do need to get some sleep evenutally." Ami put back on her nanotranformer. "Where are you going Ami?" Megami asked. "Just for a little walk. I'm feeling restless."
Ami walked through the colony. It was quiet, walking in those hours. Ami liked the quietness. It gave her peace. She took a seat on the bench near the Linear Line. The line was closed at that time, only emergency for Guardians who had a mission in there. Ami stared at the ceiling. 'Magashi. Why was all of this kept a secret?'

"Are you sure about this Ryght?" asked an older male. He was standing beside another male, who was sitting at a desk. "Yes Headmaster. She's made contact with Magashi. At this point, it will be hard to keep it confidential." The elder male, Headmaster Nav, stared at Hyuga. "Are you sure it isn't something else?" That's when Hyuga's face turned a bright red. "Wha-what are you talking about Headmaster?" Nav gave a small chuckle. "It's alright my boy. Just because we are in a superior ranking, it does not mean that we are not subjected to the various rumors and going-ons of the place." The president, Dallgun, coughed. The two stopped talking and looked at him. "Sorry sir." they said. Then, Dallgun displayed a screen and looked over it. "Ami Satomora right? Joined after the Seed attack on the colony in mobile defense." Nav added, "Oh, her? She has quite the attitude. Her combat skills are almost above average. But how she goes about it, it lacks for that. She does seem like she can handle this." Dallgun nodded. "Hmm, given some guidance, yes. Ryght, I'll permit your request. But it'll be up to her whether or not she accepts. Bring her here tomorrow afternoon." Hyuga gave a salute. "Thank you sir, and I will."

I'm starting to work back on my epic crossover fanfiction that I've done and rewritten about 3 times now. It's my OC again, but with characters from Heat Guy J, Saiyuki, a little alluding to Nightwalker (from what I have from memory anyway), and slight mentioning of Silent Mobius later. I think I will post that one after With You. I really do want to try and write something past 20 chapters for a change.
