A storm comes in. The rain is cold this evening, very cold. It chills the bone with the slightest touch to the skin. The rain falls into an alley where two corpses are laying. They are of Ase and Mort. The soulless, empty eyes of Ase refill with life. He rises to a sitting position. Ase says in amazement, "I— I'm alive! Oh thank heavens. Wait…" Ase looks around the alley, and looks down at Mort's body. "… I get it. That murderer must've missed anything vital. And what just happened was all just a dream. Heh, Death. This old man couldn't have been Death." Ase says as he tries to cope with what just happened. He looks down at his undershirt, which he'd been stabbed through. It has a hole from the entry of the knife, but something is out of place. Where is the blood? Ase, startled by this discovery, thinks the rain washed it away, but examines his chest for the wound. It isn't there. There is just a scar where he had been stabbed. It looked old, as if he'd had it his whole life. "This can't be right. My body couldn't have healed that quickly! What's going on?!" Ase says as he brings his hands to his head. But there's something else that is peculiar. In his right hand is an object. Ase thought, "A stick? No, too heavy. A staff? Wait, the end is shining." The moonlight breaches through the storm clouds to reflect onto a blade. "A— a scythe?!" Ase shouts in disbelief. No one is around to hear him, but a voice comes from nearby. It tries to speak, "A…Ase…" Ase looks in front of him to see Mortichai's lips moving. He quickly puts his ear to Mort's chest to listen for a pulse. There isn't one. The speaking continues, "Ase. It is me, Mort. This is a temporary possession. Listen, you are now Death. Your physical limitations are lower than ever. Your injuries will now heal themselves within seconds. You can't be killed unless stabbed through your heart again. That scar is now the weakest point on your body." Ase interupts, "Mort, I Don't understand. What do you want me to do?" The body replies, "Do you see the skull at the end of the scythe? Remove it and place it on your head." Ase does so. The skull latches onto Ase's face and merges with it. Ase opens his eyes to see numerous blue, glowing figures. Mort continues, "Now, you see the glows? They are the souls of the pure. Do you see a red glow amongst them?" "Yes, Mort." Ase replies. "Just as I feared. That is a soul possessed by a demon. That is also our murderer. I must go now. Remember everything I told you, and save his soul." Mort concludes. The body goes limp again. Ase looks to the end of the alley to find Anna's scooter. He realizes what that means. Ase picks it up and turns it on. He then rests the scythe between his swords and looks to the red glow. He then says aloud, "Don't worry, Anna. I'm coming to save you."
