OMG! It mentioned the word Bible! It MUST be Christian! Say what? There are more Bibles out there than what you think. It's in fact, a hentai anime. I'm not saying it's sinful just because it is though. Bible Black has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to o with religion. To sum it up, it's about people who were murdered during sexual intercourse. (Yes, I said sexual. rolleyes Giggle about it while you're miles away from me).

Okay, when I first read the summary to this, I see "God is dead..." now let's stop there. According to Christians, God is immortal and can never die. Let's hear another sentence shall we? "...as punishment for her defiance to god, Alexiel's body was sealed in a crystal..." Stopping. God doesn't punish you by sealing you in a crystal! Never has he done that in the Bible! Which WAS written thousands of years ago if I do recall. Ala in all, this is not a Christian anime.

In the book, they give God, Angels, and Devil all genders. None of these things have genders. In fact, (and even though this is a good book) they make up all these things about God and Devils and Angels that aren't part of the CR, and while it does make for a very good story, these just aren't Christian. That and, it said that Kohaku was God's favorite angel. God doesn't have fovorites, according to Christians, he loves us all equally.
Disclaimer: I AM NOT trying to sound like an elistist, and I know not ALL of you are Christians and not ALL of you believe in God. Just trying to point out that these particular anime are not Christian, but not sinful either. I'm also not saying there aren't Christian anime, it's just that those listed above aren't and CA is very rare.

This thread has no point. By the way, there are Christian anime. "Chrno Crusade" is based solely on christianity. It has nothing to do with random words grabbed out from the religion. It has the concept of God, Devils, Angels, Apostles, and whatnot. It involves churches, the feeling of despair, and the connection of the world of the living to the world of the divine.
In addition, having religious icons being "Genderless" is going against christianity itself. Christians, if you haven't noticed, don't like things that go against "nature", which is why they are attacked so much for being "intolerant". Hence, the very idea of a genderless god, with genderless angels and genderless Satan is flat out going against the whole concept of "nature".
Just because the characters were given a gender doesn't necessarily mean that it's not Christian. Anything that relates to the actual religion itself is considered "Christian Anime". Another example of a "Christian Anime" would be Neon Genesis Evangelion". It doesn't matter if the show has loose ties with the religion, if there are connections to any religious content (Neon Genesis Evangelion takes place 15 years after armageddon), then the anime automatically becomes a religious one (aka Christian).
About "God is Dead" it doesn't mean that God is literally dead. It's a figurative speech. You cannot assume something simply by reading the "summary". You have to actually watch the show and make the concensus yourself. Furthermore, this is ANIME we're talking about, not a "movie". If it was a movie, sure, complain all you want. Unfortunately, it's an anime, and anime tend to have very unrealistic things.
I don't think I've seen ANYONE mistaken any of the anime mentioned here that was called a "Christian anime".
