5:00 is my least favorite time of day.
it's that awkward in-the-middle time, where everything considered "morning/afternoon"-ish is done, but the evening stuff has not yet begun. So I can't really eat supper already, I don't work out in the afternoon, but there's really not anything else to do, either.

finished the book. Insomnia by Stephen King. I've been working on it practically all summer, and the memories associated with it were/are insane.
so when I finished (the main character ended up willingly dying to go against fate and save a child he loved), i just bawled and bawled.
why? it occurred to me that this was a sort of weight lifted off my chest, of all of my regrets this summer and all the memories of this past semester. the thing that connected me to the past no longer was going to.
and I melted. I cried tears of happiness, of renewed regret, of sorrow for the character, of sorrow for my own life, of hope.
stupid hormones. I tell ya, being a girl can really suck once in a while.
also: AFCG. These are the chords for an awesome song I heard whilst watching Shrek the Third last night. I promptly spent an hour playing with it, and realized off the bat that those happen to be the same exact chords of Listen to Your Heart, the first sheet music song that I ever bought, ever learned to play. (it's all in pieces now, they're paper-clipped together for the occasional read-through)
oh the irony.
so now I guess I'm off to kill this 5:00 hour. Probably gonna work on the cakewalk stuff some more using said chords. (I was totally making up some AWESOME stuff last night... pahahaha yay for Christmas break and completely deserted lounges with out-of-tune baby grand pianos...)
this is the end of a painful beginning. I'm more than a little excited what happens from here on out. :]
