Elan leaves her home. Meets a Specter and a Wolf.
Okay well, after her home was destroyed she went on her own into the forests and into Death Valley, and there she spent the next several years of her life. And after that she was either traveling the forests and mountains with Will or at see with the group. In her adult life she's never really had a settled down life, so maybe when she leaves, she doesn't just leave Gavin. She leaves everything about settling down and staying put. She goes into the forests again. She travels on her own, having no idea where she's going or what she'll encounter. But she's grown into a more powerful witch now so she's not afraid. One night, she hears Gavin's voice from inside a cave. He's calling out to her, crying and asking her why she's left him, not knowing that she's there listening. She begins to walk closer to the voice, but before she goes into the cave where it's coming from, Gavin steps out looking totally broken. He looks up at her and his face lights up and he runs towards her to greet her, telling her how happy he is to see her and everything. And she's kinda weirded out because Gavin is acting very strangely, even for him. Then through the course of their talking somehow she pinpoints that she isn't talking to Gavin at all, but to a specter who has disguised himself as Gavin to try to lure her to her death. She exposes him by telling him that she knows what he is. The specter changes into it's true form, and in return for being so clever, she gets to keep her life, and he must answer for her one question. Because after all, Specters know all, past, present, and future. She asks him where she should go, and in the cryptic ways specters do, he answers by telling her to stay where she is. And then just like that he's gone. (I've always wanted to use a specter lol sorry. anyway moving on) So she thinks he's crazy, but she does know of the creatures and their inability to lie once they've been exposed, so she makes camp and stays there for the night. She's woken from her sleep later that night by the sounds of something coming towards her. You know, breaking twigs and whatnot. She is startled fully awake by what she thinks is a wild animal, but turns out to be a small wolf. And, long story short, the wolf leads her up the mountain to this cave where it was obvious a dragon used to live but no longer does. She makes friends with the animal, basically tells it her life's story for lack of company. And that night she's shocked out of her witts when the wolf turns into a man. The man tells her that he sensed her baby and wanted to make sure she was alright because that part of the forest was known for having lots and lots of specters. And then he asks if he can travel with her because he's lonely.
