The Portals of WyldeWood

WyldeWood: A true safehaven for all of those of magic. The vision was fulfilled with greater success than many could have imagined. However, as the world grew, and the magical creatures of WyldeWood began to spread, a genuine concern began to rise out of the inhabitants.

It was a world made from pure magic, for magical beings. There would be those born with a great deal of natural ability. There would be natural concerns for different areas of the land. How were they to keep in contact with one another, and ensure the safety of their new home?

The answer came in the nymphs of the land. By their very nature, they could easily be connected to different parts of the world. Twining together their abilities, and borrowing abilities from others, the nymphs finally made the Tree Portals.

Each Tree Portal is only able to go from the GloryHeart Meadow, and to one specific destination. This is much like a real door will only go from one point in a room to one point in one other room; however, they are magical portals and not doors. Each portal has its own strength, it's limit to how many unicorns can enter at once and how often it can be used. This is in direct correlation to the nymphs and talented unicorns that are able to keep them, and may be changed for emergency situations or special occasions. They also tend to sap the strength of those who have entered, and more often than not the areas directly surrounding the portals, especially at GloryHeart Meadows, have been pleasantly arranged for relaxing activities.

While it is possible and permissible for a unicorn to swiftly go through portals (say, from IceFury to GloryHeart Meadows to Mer-Haven Ocean, it is not advisable. It is best to take at least an hour's rest in this instance, and it is not permitted for one unicorn to make 3 portal jumps in a 6 hour period (and it will always be doubled as such... 4 jumps in 8 hours, etc.)

Currently, there are five portals open to the general unicorn populace. There are more, but they are well-protected and can not be entered at this time.
