One of the members: a paladin, was attacked by a vampiric monster who tried to devour him. As hard as I fought, my normal energy wasn't enough. I almost lost him, but in a lashing out, I released a wave of negative energy. The villain fled, but this would not be the last I saw of him.
The knight appeared alright, but disappeared not long after. When he returned, I found him in the midst of a battle between himself and another of my old friends: a shadow contractor named Noble. Noble had been in a viscous battle just before: one in which many lives were lost and he was gravely injured.
Because Noble was responsible for the loss of so many lives, the knight came to serve him justice, but in the shadow contractor's state, I couldn't tolerate such a deed and stood in his way. This man... felt much different than the friend I'd had before. He'd changed, and as I would learn later, had seen unspeakable, horrible evils. Not long after, he did something unspeakable himself: took the life of his brother and friend.
I pursued him, but the barrier to his solace caught me off guard. The next day, I woke up in the hospital: a kind of place I'd hated from the time I was small. Needless to say, I fled the place as fast as I could. I decided to join the Holy Order in their search in hopes of finding him, but he had already found his way there.
He was to serve a sentence for his deed, locked within a cell in the mountains. I didn't want him to feel alone, I suppose. I felt some connection I couldn't exactly understand, but in my past had taken many lives myself: sins I'd never paid for. So, I served the sentence with him. In the cell, another side of him was revealed: a side who said I reminded him of his late wife.
We didn't speak much after that, but as I was about to find, he wasn't the only friend of mine who'd changed. Leafe: a man who'd helped me seal away the book of beasts came by to visit us. He had taken the book. He and Arcanjelo clashed. Leafe's intentions were in part, revealed.
After the Grandmaster's return and our release, we sought to find Leaferian before his plans could unfold. We entered a place called Wonderland: a place that without a doubt held a tragic history of war among siblings. The citadel was filled with traps and puzzles. The consequences for taking a wrong step in a puzzle were dire, though thankfully few were hurt. The real danger was Leaferian, himself. Leafe and his siblings became one: a staggeringly powerful master of the elements... We didn't stand a chance.
Yet, in spite of this, the Order brothers charged in, relentlessly in spite of my warnings. I bargained with Seginus, a spear stolen from the castle that I felt was tantamount to his completing the ritual and threatened to break it if he harmed the brothers further, but he laughed and sent me back to the Order to be joined by the others soon after.
