All time magic involve adjusting the flow of time. We can speed it up or slow it down for any living creature, or apply areas of time flow adjustment. It can be used to make crops grow quickly or preserve food.
In its more powerful forms, you can "stop" time and take many actions in the blink of an eye- crossing hundreds of miles in minutes simply by walking the whole way in an extremely hasted state. Conversely, you can "stop" time by slowing something to the point where time doesn't seem to move at all.
However, a true time stop is only theoretically possible. Time always moves forwards, never backwards- forwards at some positive rate, it be quickened or slowed.
The theory of time flow says that it should be theoretically possible to STOP time. One hundred percent stopped, with absolutely no forward momentum whatsoever. A true stop could outlast all of an entire era, keeping the one who is stopped perfectly healthy with no ill effects due to the static reality surrounding that person.
It is also said that stopping time could involve approaching the "unforgivable barrier of reversal"... the point at which time flows backwards, and travels into the past is possible. However, the consequence of ANY time travel could be disastrous, resulting in paradoxes that may destroy the world. As appealing as the idea sounds to journey back in time, it is far too dangerous to be allowed.
Therefore, all research into such barrier breaches should be banned. Time Stop research is allowed, due to its positive benefits, but only under strict control and supervision of those with highest authority or government.
