It seems the only really good movies that have been coming out lately are the small budget ones that play in "select theaters."
First off, the Woody Allen film Scoop was wonderful. Scarlet Johannson is one of the few quality young actresses that is really oscar deserving in my opinion. The plot was great and humorous, poking a lot of fun at English high society in a much lighter way than his last film, Match Point.
Second, Little Miss Sunshine. I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed so hard during a movie. It was hilarious yet gave great life messages in simple ways. Go see it. ninja Steve Carell was also great in it, he played a more serious character than he normally does, it'll be interesting to see him in a drama film in the future.
