Physics class is usually pretty uneventful. The professor talks about theories and concepts, and we all take notes. But this Tuesday we had some excitement during class. The professor was describing various subatomic particles when suddenly a student yelled out. “Look, a fire!” Sure enough, in the corner of the lecture hall, flames were speading out along the wall. Almost immediately, the alarm rang, and everyone quickly got up to leave. I had barely gotten out of the room when the sprinklers finally came on.
Since then, a lot of people have been talking about the incident. Supposedly they can’t find a reason for the fire to have started. So, naturally the logical conclusion is that it was caused by some kind of gaiamancy. But, it’s unclear who had done it or whether it was intentional or not.
Anyways, on to more important news. Eric and I spent Sunday evening studying together in the library. We found a quiet, secluded spot hidden among the book stacks. We both commented on how it reminded us of the time we were alone in the woods together, however this time I had no wish to be found. We did get some productive work done, school work, that is. But, it was difficult for me to concentrate on anything but Eric’s eyes most of the time. Best of all, there was a time while he was explaining a molecular shift formula to me when I had to lean in close to see. I could have just turned my head and kissed him right there, but alas, I didn’t. Still I felt like there was some kind of…connection. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s probably just my imagination anyway. Or maybe it's not.
