I am a freshwater sprite. That is probably the most important thing you need to know about me. This means I can live in ponds, rivers, lakes, brooks, streams, and sometimes even puddles, if it suits me. I take care of the fish, nymphs, larvae, snails, frogs, turtles and other creatures living there, and sometimes I am guardian over ducks and geese as well.
I can only be seen on rainy days. If you chance by a freshwater pool of some sort one rainy day, look for me. I don't look as I appear now, however; I sometimes appear as a cerulean dragonfly that glitters in the rain as though the sun is touching it. Other times, people think I'm a blue firefly in the rainy night. One thing is certain, though: you will never see me as I appear now unless you catch me off guard. And that is very hard to do.
