I traveled places and sites not known to man. I live on earth but guess where I’m from, planet X-ile. Everyone thinks aliens are green things with tentacles but look at me I look human right. I have 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 ears, 10 fingers, 10 toes, a mouth, a nose, and 2 eyes. My mom died on earth 10 years ago. She left me with a sword blade with no sword; it was the last thing she gave me. I just learned where I was from today Feb. 26 20016. Now I’ll tell you how my mom died that terrible day of Feb. 26, 2006.
Chapter 1
I was five at the time and we were just moving onto this giant house. My mom was driving the car to Ellicott City, Maryland. She opened the window and her chestnut hair flew in the wind. My hair was more like my dad’s short and black.
“Breanna, what you looking at,” mom asked.
“Nothing mom just the clouds and the sun,” I replied. We got to the house in an hour or so. The moving truck was already there and unpacking our things. I saw a boy with blond hair mowing the lawn next door. He waved and I waved back. My family and I went inside. My dad and the movers were moving the furniture and my mom was telling them where to put it. I told the movers to put my bed anywhere. I sat on my bed and looked at my new navy blue ceiling. It was dark to help me go to sleep at night and I remember having stars on the ceiling with a shining moon. After the movers left and the house looked good. I went outside and saw the boy again at his mailbox. I walked up to him and asked.
“What’s your name?”
“My name’s Darrell. What’s yours?” he asked.
“Breanna, I’m going to sunrise elementary and 5,” I answered.
“Well, I’m going to sunrise elementary and 6 1/2,” he said.
“Can I come over, I’m new to the neighborhood and I need at least one friend,” I asked.
“Sure, shouldn’t you ask your mom first,” he told me.
“I’m sure she wouldn’t mind,” I said. I went into his house, we passed by his kitchen that had a hot pink stove. Then we got to his living room and in all the cabinets I could see he had video games. There was a black sofa with a silver plasma T.V and a Playstation 2 attached to it.
“Wow, how many video games do you have exactly,” I asked.
“Exactly, let’s see,” he put his hand on his chin, “Um 399, no wait make that 400, I just got 1 the other day.”
“Wow,” I said again.
“Darrell, you need to tell me when you bring a friend over I only made enough cookies for one.” a woman said. An older woman with gingerbread oven mitts came out. I think it was Darrell’s mother; some of her skin was bright red which means she burnt her skin. She looked like Darrel she had blonde hair that was short and curly.
“Mom where is my PSP,” Darrell asked.
“In your room, next to your tan coat on her chair,’ she answered as he started running upstairs. She put the hair that fell in front of her face back behind her ears.
“So what’s your name,” she asked.
“Breanna,” I said. Before she could ask anything else Darrell cam downstairs with a black PSP.
“Do you have one,” he asked. I shook my head no.
“Could I play yours,” I asked.
“Sure,” he said. Just as he was about to put it in my hand my mom came and dragged me off towards my house by my arm.
“Why didn’t you tell me where you were going to that boy’s house,” she asked angrily.
Since I was bored,’ I answered.
“That’s a bad excuse,” she said and she began to give me a speech bout telling her where I am and always telling her where I’m going. I looked deep into her deep blue eyes and she look into mine. I could tell she was mad. Her lips were pouted and her eyes were nearly closed.
“Now go to your room,” my mom said.
“I hate you,” I shouted and stomped off to my room. That night I saw a group of men with torches or rake handles on fire going to Darrell’s house. I ran across the hallway to my mom’s room and told her what I saw. She ran downstairs and went through the neighbors open backdoor. She ran I think and told Darrell, his mom and dad. Since the next moment the whole family was outside and running to our house and Darrell had two Gameboy advances ad games. I didn’t see my mom running come out of the building. I went out the door and tried to go into the house but one of the men with torches blocked my path. He pushed me and I fell on a rock. The last thing I remember is my mom screaming and fire trucks coming. Then everything went dark, very dark. I woke the up next day in my room thinking it was the worst dream ever. I ran downstairs and yelled for my mom. Then I saw my dad and Darrell’s family in the kitchen. I saw the sad faces and I looked out the window I saw the charcoal frame of a house on the ground. I began to cry and Darrell tried to cheer me up.
“She died a hero; she did the best thing a person could do. Help a whole family she didn’t know,” he said.
“Shut up. It’s all your fault, yours, your families and those stupid men,” I said. I ran to my room crying. That whole day I stayed in my room crying ad sleeping. The next day my dad came ad gave me the sword handle. It was green with opals, my birthstone.
“Your mom said to give you this if she dies,” he said. He sat down next to me on the bed.
“You know it’s not their fault. It’s the guys who set fire to the house,” he said.
“I know,” I said and put the sword handle on my dresser. Darrell came into my room holding two Gameboy advances.
“Do you want the black or red one,” he asked.
“I like the red one,” I answered. He put it in my hand along with a Harry Potter 4 and a Yu-Gi-Oh game. He went back downstairs along with my father. Those next 10 years were the worst without my mom. I had friends but I always took a day or at home and I always looked at my sword handle. I loved my mom ad I cherished the last thing I got from her. Now it’s been exactly 10 year since it happened. Instead of celebrating Memorial Day on the last Monday of May I have it today in honor of my mom.

“Ugh I hate math,” I said. I was getting my math test back to me from two days before. I had gotten a C again I was what you would call an average student.
“Martha what did you get,” I asked my friend. She turned around and was a holding a test with the A+ symbol. She was an A student never have I once heard of her getting lower then an A-. If she did it would be in the papers that’s what everyone said.
“Breanna what did you get,” Ashley asked. I showed her my paper and she showed hers to me. She had gotten an A again. She was an A student but one you didn’t care about. She always got A’s and was snobby about it and whenever someone got lower then her she would say something snobby.
“If you need any help I’m here to tutor you, I myself would not know how you could get a C on such and easy test,” she said. Everyone started laughing except Martha I wanted to sink into my chair. The teacher put her hand up to quiet everyone.
“Now Ms. Ashley not everyone thinks it’s easy in fact there are some other people who got D’s,” Mrs. Douglas said. Mrs. Douglas was my favorite teacher maybe because she always helped me out of situations like that or maybe because she reminded me of my mom. She had the same chestnut hair and blue eyes.
“Class, the end of the year is only a month away and we’re taking the finals in a week or so. You had better study,” she said. The bell rag and it was 1:35 pm it was almost the end of the day. I went out the door and went to my locker. I started to unlock the lock when James went by. He was a boy with blue hair spiked with gel. James locker was 2 away from mine.
“Hi,” I said and he waved unlocked his locker and went on his way. It was almost time for the last homeroom period when I had finished unlocking my locker. I got my backpack and filled it with my binder, math journal and book, English journal and book, and my spelling workbook. I ran across the hall to get to my homeroom and got there just as the bell rang. I sat down with my friends and waited for 10 minutes until the bell rang. Mr. Ger kept telling us to study for our English, math, and languages finals. Once the bell rang I was the first one out the door followed by all my friends.
“Hey wanna hang out after school,” Merrisa asked.
“Ya maybe at 5 or so you could come over to my house and watch a movie,” I answered.
“How about Harry Potter 7 or something,” Martha said. Everyone agreed to watch Harry Potter 7. I was about to get on my bus when Darrell called my name.
“Yo Breanna, you’re coming with me,” he said grabbing my backpack.
“Why,” I asked.
“Well my mom said your dad wasn’t home and she didn’t want you there alone,” he said.
“How do you know that,” I asked.
“She called my cell and anyway you have to ride with me you know your dad’s usually never home,” he answered. So we got in his blue convertible that still was on the ground. That’s why I hated riding with him I only liked hover cars. He started the car and we were on our way when I got home I had to stay at his house till 4 because my dad didn’t get home until then. By that time I had done my homework ad figured out I left my science book at school and thus couldn’t do my science homework. Once I went back to my house I asked my dad if some friends could come over he asked who they were then he said yes. So I called everyone and they came over in less then 20 minutes. I put in the Harry Potter disc and we started watching the movie. After the movie was over we talked about how all of us didn’t like Ashley and if Martha had ever gotten lower then an A on anything. Then they started to ask how I knew a junior and why he had to give me a ride. I told them that he lives next to me and how his house burned down and he had to live with me for 3 years. After 2 hours of talking all my friends had to go. Dad had finished making spaghetti for dinner and we started to eat.
“Dad when can I get my permit,” I asked.
“You can’t until your 16,” he answered.
“I don’t mean my license I mean my permit I could get it now,” I scowled.
“I know what you mean and no you’re not getting a permit because I want you to get your permit the same age as your license,” he said He rolled his spaghetti onto his fork while he said that. I glared at him I was the only one of my friends that didn’t have a permit. Even though my birthday was only 2 months away I felt like it would never come. I went up to my room and found a card from someone. It said:
5/15/16
Dear Breanna,
Yo, me and my friends are going to Colorado this summer and we wanted to know if you can come. We booked 10 rooms incase you come and bought 10 tickets we need you to tell us by the end of the school year if you don’t respond we calling someone else. Bye my homie.
Your friend,
Merrisa Lika
I want to go, she thought, but I’d have to tell my dad and he would say he had to go not worth it, totally not worth it.
*
The next day I told Merrisa in homeroom how I couldn’t go because of my dad. She looked sad and went on to her next class after Mr. Ger. I went to my locker to get my science stuff and when I got to class I was ready to hear an earful about how I forgot my homework. What I got was not what I had expected.
“Class,”Mr. Williams said, “The principal told me that the homework I gave you was supposed to be for seniors since I will be teaching seniors soon. So for anyone who completed it they get major extra credit.”
“Did anyone really complete it, I mean if it’s for seniors who could’ve completed,” I said.
“I completed it,” Martha said.
“So did I,” Ashley said, “and I think you’ll be quite happy with it,” She gave me a sly smile then turned back around. Mr. Williams collected their papers and started to grade them.
“What are we doing today,” I asked.
“Nothing this moment. Just talk amongst yourselves and I’ll grade these in a second,” he said. I went over to Martha and we started to talk.
“What you think you got on the paper,” I asked her.
“Probably a B or an A- or lower,” she answered.
“Nah you can’t get lower than a B, you’re to smart,” I said. Then Mr. Williams called the class to order ands everyone got back in there seats.
“Well done Mrs. Martha A-,”he said smiling while giving back her paper. He went by Ashley’s desk still smiling.
“Well I was happy about this paper I was happy indeed. You got an A+ very smart for a sophomore,” he said.
“Thank you,” she said. If she was so smart for a sophomore why is she one, I thought. Maybe she should skip junior and go straight to senior I would be happy there would be no more Ashley. That would be sweet. I glared at Ashley and the Mr. Williams began to start explaining how we have to study for the science finals. The rest of the day all of them were explaining the same thing to us. After school I went home with Darrell again and we didn’t get any homework except to study. I study in every subject for 30 minutes. I know it doesn’t sound like much but it’s the longest I studied for any subject in years. It was 5:00 when I got finished studying.
“Breanna,” Darrell’s mother called to me.
“Yeah what is it,” I answered.
“Your dad’s coming home after 12:00 your staying here tonight,” she said. I didn’t really care that I was staying there but I wished I could bring my friends over. Then we could study together since the finals were tomorrow and she felt like she hadn’t studied at all. After she had dinner she went straight to bed and laid there sleeping and she had a very strange dream.
“Defy the one you love for you shall never be like her you are but a peasant half earthling,” a man in blue type armour said.
“Why, why should I,” I answered. It was not me though, it was the same voice and hands but more like my moms.
“Your mother she was magnificent but you, you are of the breed that tried to find us force us to be them and you have the worst blood in the world. Half of that,” the armour man replied. I jumped on a horse and the horse galloped away as I looked back the man was on a horse to. The horse reared up because some ships were coming and the horse was scared. I dropped from the horse and the man did too. I tripped over a rock and fell face first and just as I sat up the man was there and had a sword pointed at my throat. I gulped and he said, “Defy your mother. Come to our land or die by my sword. If so there will be a celebration for I killed half an earthling.” He laughed and I started to look into his cold black eyes.
“I won’t defy my mother the queen she is better then your son of the devil king. I would rather die then be on your side,” I said. He looked into my eyes and turned the sword over so he was holding the blade and the hilt was at my throat. He hit my head with it and everything turned black. I awoke in the bright sun tied up to a tree.
“Defy your mom, defy the queen come to me or we shall kill you,” a sinister scratchy voice said.
“Come from the shadows so I can see your face. Anyway you cannot kill me your all the way up,” I said then it hit me he was holding a rope and in front of me was a gate. She still remembered her moms words never give up even if you die you died trying.
“I will never defy her,” I said, “and I shall never pledge allegiance with you,” My voice rang out through the building it was clear and the man had a devilish grin on his face. He threw me a dagger I cut my self out of the ropes.
“Let’s see if you still feel that way after you face a dreaded bizocky,” the man said with an evil laugh. She knew of it, it was a creature with a snakelike body but had legs. A hundred legs with venom in it’s bite and sweat and if you get cut by it’s scales or even touch it your hand will have to be cut off immediately. It was basically covered in venom so she was warned not to ever go near it.
“If I die I die trying. I never give up and it’s my best way of life. I live because of that motto and I will continue because of it,” I shouted to him. He pulled the rope.
“I hope what you said is right then I could force you to be on my team,” he said smiling, “Here comes the bizocky.” As I began to attack the bizocky tried to bite me. It jumped on me and the last thing I saw was the armoured man with tears streaming down his face.
