Chapter 3
I strapped on my harness and started up the mountain my feet slipped now and then but I was able to hang on. I got to the top and the others were waiting.
“We’re going down the other way,” Merrisa said. I nodded and we started down. I learned it was harder going down then up so the other got to the bottom before I got down 3.
“I guess we’ll go to the next mountain and wait for you their,” Merrisa shouted to me.
“Ok,” I said in a little squeak of a voice. I started to go down again and my foot slipped but this time I fell over 300 feet.
“Um Merrisa… I FELL,” I shouted panicking. I started to grab for the mountains but I was to far away. I felt something throbbing in my head so I closed my eyes. Darkness immediately surrounded me but a path came I followed it and the second path appeared. Instead of falling on that path I kept walking the same pass. A light burned as I got close I was blinded by the light but kept walking a door opened I walked through.

“What a shame,” a boy in a blue hat said. He picked the bruised girl up he saw it all happened. The girl slipped and fell off the mountain he had been flying watching her. Her sword hilt began to glow.
“Yeah, yeah I know I’m sending ya,” he said. He waved his hand and the hilt went away.
“What a shame for her to die here in order to go over there,” a girl said coming from behind a tree. The boy held the bruised girl and went up into the sky “C’mon,” he said to other one.
“Coming,” she said she went up and followed the man. He soared around and found the bruised girls friends and put her behind a nearby tree. The other girl was still in the sky.
“What are you exactly doing,” she shouted to him, “what will they think she had a heart attack.”
“I don’t know put they need to keep her at least physically ok,” he said putting the bruised girl down and soared up.
“Mike they’re coming. Hide,” she said. They both hid and they heard the girls scream and tell the mother and heard a car vroom away quickly. They came out of hiding.
“Julie we need to go back,” he said. He took a dagger and was about to shove it in his stomach when the girl Julie stopped him.
“You don’t kill yourself her or you won’t come back,” Julie said, “So we just need to go to the place we came through.”
“Oh Yeah,” he said and put the dagger in his pocket. They went to the tallest mountain and made a small crack in the mountain. They made themselves smaller and slid through. Then the mountain rumbled a little like it was trembling then stopped and the crack was gone.

“Ugh,” I said, I had landed on top of a mountain. A door was open just a crack up ahead, I went forward to the door and found it open just a crack. She went in and there was a spiral staircase. She went down and found another door that was closed and had locks. Luckily the lock was open unluckily there was a note, why was this unlucky see for yourself. It read:
Take care, brave warrior. What lies beyond this door is more vicious than you could imagine. All I can do is tell you what it looks like. With its bright red eyes, it paralyzes you. With its sharp long claws, it kills you. With its long tail it can crush your organs. No one knows what it is but most people go on. Stronger men then you have put there tail between their legs and ran. I strongly hope you avoid opening this door. This thing will kill you. Don’t go in. What I tell you unlucky. If I went in I’d get killed and I wanted to know what it looked like. What a dilemma.
“What should I do, I don’t even know if it’s true,” I said out loud.
“You shouldn’t go in,” a boy said, “Names Gerry, and you must be the girl I was sent to get.” The boy had blue hair in a pony tail behind his head. He seemed small so I thought he was a pixie or a very young elf.
“Uh my name is Breanna,” I said nervously, “I’m not from here I from a far away place,” more like a different planet.
“Yeah ok, anyway need to get you back to Santra,” Gerry said. I saw he was eating a purple looking fruit. He had long black hair and blue eyes. He was wearing gold shirt and silver pants.
“Are you an elf,” I asked.
“You know our creatures,” he said looking impressed, “Guess your smarter then you look.” That made me mad I wanted to hit him. He came towards me and grabbed my hand. He lead me up the steps and back to the top of the mountain. He put his arms around my stomach and went up into the sky.
“Ahhhhh,” I screamed.
“Never flew before,” he said, “It’s great if you aren’t afraid of heights.”
“AAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,” I continued screaming.
“Guess you’re afraid of heights,” he laughed.
“Where are we,” I said still scared.
“Griven,” he said getting serious, “it’s all dark every single day. My dad died here and I was born the day he died. So my mom never celebrated my birthday, she mourned it.”
“Oh,” I said.
“That’s why I’m with the king and queen, just because my dad died. He died by that monsters sword and I will kill that monster. He was the evilest creature then but not the ruler now he is,” he said continuing.
“What’s the ruler’s name,” I asked.
“Daren, how can you not know maybe you are as dumb as you look,” he said. I had to ask now he thinks I look and am dumb.
“Daren, he’s making new creatures. Making new creatures from the old one’s blood or bone or ash. He kills them in order to get the blood. He doesn’t just stick a needle in them for blood, he just beats them to a bloody pulp,” he said.
“Wow,” I said, “Why does he do that.”
“So he can have the good creatures along with the bad,” he said, “His own gain from the loss of another.” The rest of the way to Santra it was quiet neither of us talker to the other. We landed with a thud once we got to a castle like building.
“Wow, it’s so big,” I shouted. It looked like it reached up to the heavens; I couldn’t even see all of the building. The building was white and had flags near every window. The flags had brown horses in each corner; it was colored light blue with a circle in the middle with a unicorn in the circle. I was walking up to the castle and I hadn’t noticed the moat so I almost fell head first in, but Gerry teleported in front of me and caught me.
“You wouldn’t want to fall in, especially since the alligators haven’t been feed yet,” Gerry said.
“Lower the bridge,” Gerry called to some people. A giant bridge went across the moat. We went across and a boy in a blue hat stepped in front of us.
“Hey Gerry, what sup bro,” the boy said.
“You didn’t say you had a brother,” I asked Gerry, “What’s his name.”
“Michael,” Gerry answered.
“That’s Mike to you, how ya doing,” he asked.
“Very well, I was just falling off a mountain, then I came here and found myself with a bad mannered pixie,” I said. Mike burst out laughing.
“Pixie, ill mannered,” he said looking offended.
“Gerry ain’t a pixie; he’s just short,” Mike said still laughing, “Isn’t that the third person to call you a pixie.” I blushed since Gerry looked really offended by the comment. Gerry stormed off into the castle.
“Don’t worry about Gerry, he’ll get over it,” Mike said still laughing a little bit, “he’s 20, and everyone thinks he’s either a pixie or younger then that.”
“If he’s 20, how come he’s so short,” I asked.
“He was born a month earlier then he was supposed to be,” Mike said looking more serious, “Gods must’ve wanted a reminder of when dad died. He wanted us to remember it for some reason.”
“Oh,” I said surprised. Mike lead me inside the castle to the King’s room, he told me that the Queen died 5 years ago giving birth to a son. The son was very healthy and has never been ill.
“Hello there,” the King said looking very cheery. He had a few blond hairs coming from underneath his hat. He had soothing deep blue eyes wearing a silver shirt and blue pants.
“Hi,” a child behind him said. The child was like a mini King it almost looked exactly like him. He was his son I was sure of it. The only difference was the child wasn’t wearing a hat.
“Hi,” I said to both of them. The king came over and brushed the hair back behind my ears.
“No point, you’re a human,” the King said, “My wife was half human just like your ¾ human.”
“Huh,” I said.
“You don’t have a point at all, that means your almost fully human, but in order to come hear you have to have a little elven blood in you,” he said.
“Oh,” I said, “So does that mean I have powers to.”
“Anyone can have power even if you’re a full blooded human, but for some reason magic doesn’t work their so you can’t use it,” the king answered.
“Breanna, the way magic works is you can only have 4 basic powers. Each one takes less time and you have 4 years to figure out what powers you want and study them. The more time you take on a power the less time you have for the others, my order of spells is transformation, flying, healing, and teleportation. My spells are all better then my power of the rest of them but the way I said them is the way I can use them better. I have learned for a year an a half about transformation and that is the most you can learn of a skill. Then I learned flying for a little less then a year, then healing for half a year, then teleportation for a month,” Mike said taking a breath.
“There are many types of powers available,” Mike continued, “There is water, fire, earth, wind, lightning attacks. Also there is defense, teleportation, flying, healing, transformation etc. Most people I know take a year to decide what power they want. I’ve only known of one person that knew exactly what power she wanted and that was the queen.”
“Well, that’s enough of learning for today go to your room and let that soak through. Then once I call you, you can come down and eat with us,” the king said, “James take her to her room, I need to talk with Mike.”
“Ok,” the boy said running up to meet me, “Well Breanna you’ll be staying near me.” He smiled and he led me down the long corridor.
“How old are you in human years,” he asked.
“15 and what do you mean by human years,” I said.
“Two human years are equal to 1 elven year, so I’m ten in your world and your 7 ½ in ours,” he replied. I didn’t like being so young here, I was kid compared to Gerry.
“But how come you look so young shouldn’t you look 10,” I asked.
“You know why they said we were immortal,” James said, “because when we were 100 we looked younger then 50, at 40 in your world we stop aging, so right now I look younger then I’m supposed to. Our bodies don’t cooperate with our age in your world only in ours, just like your body is thinking your older then you are in this world.” He smiled at me; he was pretty smart for 10.
“Have you decided what you want to be your powers yet,” I asked.
“Reading minds, teleporting, healing, and reincarnation. Reading minds healing and teleporting is because of my mom. Reincarnation is so I can bring back my mom,” he said looking down. We were at the end of the corridor and James pointed to the door to his left.
“That’s the dining room,” he said, “up the steps to the right is your room and next to that is the library, and across from your room is my room. I need to talk to the cook and armory so I can’t go up with you I got to go,” he said running back to the door. I went up the steps went in the room on my right. The bed had a blue gown on it and in the box at the bottom of the bed had jewelry and more clothes. I wonder if I could change the color I thought. I turned around and realized I hadn’t washed anytime that day. I took off my clothes and went to the tub in bathroom right across from the bed. Once I finished with my bath I saw that the gown had changed to my favorite color red. I put on the dress and went to the library to learn more about Daren. I found books about all the demons but no books about the new creatures like Wyrt and Senar. I found a book that had a story of Daren saying that he was born 5 and killed his mother getting out. Now that ain’t right, I thought, it must be a fairy tale. I went to the library window and saw it was pointing in the direction of the woods. I saw a couple of unicorns and horses in stables. I sat in the chair reading the book about Daren. I fell asleep once I got to chapter 16.
