Ok for all the Devil May Cry (DMC) fans. If you don't already know then the newest game of the DMC series (DMC 4) is coming out in the winter of next year. Now I don't know a lot about this new game of awsomeness but what I do know it is what i'm gonna tell you now. Basically the game takes place on the remote island "Fortuna" for most of the game. Are you all ready for a big new feature to the game? Dante isn't the main Character of DMC 4 eek eek eek
The new main character is another demon slayer called Nero (kickass name xd ) and basically Nero belongs to a group of religious crusaders known as the "Order of The Sword," this group basically worships Dante's father Sparda and slay demons in his name.
Now ppl calm down, just b/c Dante isn't the main character doesn't mean he isn't in this game. Dante does appear but we are not yet sure if he's playable or not yet. His role in the game is still a mystery to us all, at first he seems like the bad guy b/c in the opening cutscene he enters the Order's tempel and starts slaying the High Clergy. After that we see Nero and Dante in a sword fight which lasts until Nero drop kicks Dante in the face, while this is happening a woman is watching the whole thing from somewhere, we don't know who it is but the producer: Hiroyuki Kobayashi, says its someone we've seen before in another one of the games. After the dropkick, Dante flees with Nero in pursuit. For some part of the game Nero chases Dante thruout Fortuna.
A cool new feature that is in the game is Nero's demonic arm that he tries to conceal until we play. As the game unfolds his demonic are gains new abilties like grabbing enemies to either pull in, push out, or even smash into the ground. Unfortuneately with this new feature there is no devil trigger mode like in the last few games. My thoughts on this is if Dante can be played as then probably the arm (which Dante doesn't have) will be replaced with his devil trigger.
There are new enemies and a few tougher ones from the last few games included. Aparrently with some of these enemies neither your sword (Nero's got a cool new sword called "All Hail The Queen" wink or you gun (Nero carries a doubleshot revolver instead of Dante's Ebony and Ivory pistols) but isntead have to use your new arm.
In the previous game DMC 3 there aren't going to be different modes like Gunslinger or Trickster mode, the producer didn't like it too much b/c he felt it limits the players field of play. Plus you had to play the game numerous times in order to completely level up one mode ( there are over 7 modes most of which I cannot name right now) I am not yet sure exactly how its going to work, whats also a mystery to me is a new leveling up system they are going to do.
The last thing to talk about is the difficulty system in this game. As you've seen in DMC 3 (voted the hardest game of the series and of all time,) the game will provide a great challenge but unlike the 3rd game the difficulty is going to start out easier till you get a feel for it and then work its way up into a harder difficulty.
