iPods suck. Updated!
I'm so sick of iPods and their monopoly of the MP3 player scene. They don't stand head and shoulders above the rest, that's for damn sure. So why have they become so popular? Probably just luck, methinks. Just the right release date, the right people bought them and told their friends.
And now bloody everything has lowercase 'i's. Ads on TV that need capital letters to catch the viewer's attention because their shitty product has no pull, have lower case 'i's mid word. "X-TREME SAViNGS!" I swear I've seen that on an ad! Argh!
The black video iPods were an acception, as they actually stood out as a great portable video device, but I'd still never by one.
And now that they've a**-raped the portable music and video industry, they're going into more territory. Phones. I've never had a mobile, as my need to call a friend or whatever is never so urgent that I can't just go around the block to a phone booth. I always save a buck worth of change in my pocket. I wouldn't even say that the phone is the main component of this new device, as it seems to browse the web and all manner of other unneeded stuff. What kind of person walks around browsing the web on the way to work or on the tram? Well, loads of people, probably, but not me, people's be reading over your shoulder all the time, bastards.
iPod blows a**.
Update: I've recently recieved a string of PMs from people offering to produce some new form of avi "art", where they get your avi, black it out and ad 2 white lines and a small square. And then charge you 1,000 gold for it.
Let that sink in for a second, 1000g for a picture that vaugely resembles your avatar, with some poorly drawn white lines.
Even if it were for free I would never do it, because having my avi blacked out doesn't promote how much a** it kicks, which I always thought was the intended purpose of the thing, because it's all black.
And what's more is that the iPod advertisements always showed the blacked out people dancing along to their favourite U2 song or some other pathetic dried up group's latest release, not just standing there. Which is what avatars do. An anim of a dancing black avi would be pretty cool, though.
If someone offered to draw an acurate picture of my avatar blacked out and dancing to a Mars Volta (read: having a seizure) then I'd take it and pay them double.
