Home Wreckers Ch.13:
"You have to burn it completely. If you don't then it's a bad omen; bad things will come out if you don't, no matter how much it hurts them." Monica told her daughter when she walked in the kitchen from school that Friday afternoon.
Fawn retrieved a glass from the cabinet and filled it with strawberry milk. She took a sip and set it on a coaster on the kitchen counter. She knew that much. Something bad would happen if she disobeyed. Then her attention was turned somewhere else. The boys were laughing and hollering in the living room. She had grown to love them regardless of what they were. She couldn't hurt them and the things coming through were slowly stopping. Nothing had come through in about a week.
"Okay..." she responded to her mother then slunk back to her room without any one seeing her.
The more Fawn thought about destroying the mirror, the more she felt like her uncle John. She didn't want to be like her uncle.
