Cruciarius' Journal
I has journal!
Wow... did I really only write 4 entries in 2012? Must be too busy with work and World of Warcraft. xP

Anyway...

One of the 1st things I got when I got my job was a new computer. Went from an old iMac from 2002. Loved the design. Very unique all-in-one design with the screen attached to a flexible arm... loved it, but it was very outdated. Couldn't upgrade the hardware or OS anymore. Replaced it with the 2012 model Mac Mini. Still a current model Mac and I am happy with it for the most part. The minor issues I do have is...

• It's screen is also my TV. This means when a TV show is on I want to watch, I have to switch from the computer to the TV. Same way you would switch a DVD or Blu-Ray player to a TV. Thing is though, I'm always doing things on my computer. I do have a DVR, but... yeah.

• Mac Mini isn't top-end model. Not a bad one, but World of Warcraft and Diablo 3 both have lag spots here and there, plus have to run at lowest settings.

So those are my only 2 issues with it. I do love it, but... could use more power and it's own screen. Been thinking of getting the latest iMac, but since my Mac Mini isn't even a year old, I don't think I should.

Been thinking of my 2 options.

• Buy an iMac.

• Buy a 2nd TV/computer monitor so I don't need to be switching back and forth.

Now if I go with option 2, another issue would likely arise. What to do with the 2nd TV when I do eventually upgrade the Mac Mini to... what ever is out at the time that I want.

Now for pricing, which I'm honestly not too concerned about since I'd use either for a long time. iMac would cost me over $2,000. 2nd TV, which I likely won't need more than a couple years, if I stick to the Mac Mini, would be around $1,000... unless I go larger than I already have, which I suppose would be more ideal for movies and such...

And then their is the other money thing on my mind... car... I can already afford a decent used car, so I'm not too concerned about saving for one right now. As in, save too much more than I already have.
