Yuki lived many years past that of a normal human, due to a cursed ring. The ring, known later as the silver pheonix band, could not be removed by the wearer. As long as it remained worn, Yuki could not age, and whenever she died, she would be reborn in a shower of silver feathers.
Nearly three hundred years after the fall of the second Atlantis, Yuki met another feather-born...one with the gold feathers of nobility. Having been taught the old ways, and being a silver feather [note: the silver-feathered were the guardians and healers of the Atlantian people], she felt the need to keep him close.
After one short year, Rikka Bloodfeather, a decendant of the original seer that gave the the prophecy that led to Atlantis's destruction, came to the small inn that Yuki owned. She convinced James, the goldfeather, that he was the one to draw the Atlantians together again.
