Yet another year gone
All the days pass too quickly
And death comes ever closer
Following like an unwelcome friend
Through the snow covered streets
We walk hand in hand
Fear keeping constant company
That this breath may be my last
Still through the endless nights I wonder
When all is said and done
The final beat of my heart be given
What will become of my name?
Will I be remembered for my gentle eyes
Spoken of with reverence
Have tears shed on my behalf?
Or will unspoken words of anger
All be made known
With apologies I could never give?
The clock continues to tick
Time continues to pass
And when my life is done
I hope to have spent my years well
Not wasting on hate and silly pride
But living in each moment
To love without regret
To laugh without pain
And to dance as if it were my very last

- Title: In The End
- Artist: virtual nerdgasms
- Description: This poem isn’t as focused on the holiday spirit, as it is the coming of the new year. Life is short, and when it’s over how will you be remembered?

- It's a very good poem, even though they don't rhyme. It made me cry.

Parts of the poems capture exactly how I feel about the end of the year. Particularily the stanza about apologies never given. I feel like time keeps passing and will keep passing us by. Thanks for writing a great poem. Even though it's ominous, it does keep the holiday spirit in me.
