As I lay here in bed watching the snow fall my heart
burns like the wood in the fireplace.
It burns for you. It needs you during this season.
I need you to keep me warm and safe.
I need you to help wrap presents and laugh with our friends and family.
We all need you to be apart of us once more.
My heart will continue to burn like the wood in the fireplace until you come back.

- i see where your going with this but, the word connotation doesnt exactly match the rest of your poem. try to make it less specific like when you say "It needs you during this season" you should've written, "My heart yearns for your company" or something like that. hope this helps.
