The world breathes a sigh of relief as snow falls
Hope soars and family gathers around
The smell of cookies and secret recipes fill homes
Kids peak at present set up on shelves
Pets claw to remove reindeer ears and bells
Laughter from over told stories that never gets old
Smiles and love flow from every one you meet
That is what makes Christmas to me
As family sleeps children peep
For a man dressed in red
Make tiny tears in gifts that no will notice
Then scurry to bed and sleep
After the fuss and left over sales
New Years prepares us for life’s ever changing tide
People watch a ball drop and make toast for a brighter year
A time when you and loved ones draw near
