Upon the ground they march,
Stone faced, heart thudding in rhythm,
Shoulders squared, backs straight.
Upon the ground they march,
Feet, yards, miles, leagues,
Disappear under unison feet.
Upon the ground they march,
Shield on arm, weapon in hand,
Helmed heads with stone faces held high.
Upon the ground they march,
Shouts of challenge, ring of clashing metal,
Neighing of horse, boom of canon.
Oh unhappy day!
Upon the ground they fall,
Shield smashed, weapon broken,
Stone cold face, silent heart,
Cold death arrives,
Upon the ground they’d marched.

- Title: The March
- Artist: Carter_Peggy
- Description: The road to a soldiers final test. A memorial to all soldiers who've died throughout the past and present. May man's destiny be different than the death of a battle feild in the future, for no one should have to die in such a horrible way. I dedicate this to all Soldiers dead and alive who have faced and will face the test of a battle feild.
