• Back Home
His head swam with thoughts as he lie there on the deserted beach. Sand covered him from head to toe while he contemplated the events that happened, over and over. All he wanted to do was be here again and now that he was, he wanted to go back. "YUNA!" his mind screamed her name, the images of her flashing about him like a swarm of bees. "Wakka. Auron. Lulu. Rikku...Yuna." he heaved a great sigh while he looked down and repeated their names. He was home, in Zanarkand. But now...all he wanted was to be with the only people he ever felt close with. The only people he would even think to consider family, were gone forever. "Well, siting here whining ain't gonna make things better." he told himself, then rose to his feet. He looked around the barren land of sand and water and gave a large sigh then began to trek foward. His feet dragged as he took each step, the sand collecting on his shoes. He was in Zanarkand alright but wich part he was in, he didn't know. Suddenly, for a breif moment, he heard a faint whistle that seemed to be carried on the wind. He looked up, searching, then whistled back. No response. "It was just your imagination, stupid." He told himself then bowed his head and truged onward. For what seemed like hours he walked, and walked, and walked, his feet beginning to throb horribly. Then, just as if he had run into a wall, he gave a loud yelp. "Dangit!" he roared then looked up. Suddenly he was face to face with an older looking man who seemed to appear out of nowhere. "Hello." the man said simply. Tidus looked at the man and gawked, then he began to sputter random words before gaining composure. The man grinned from ear to ear as the scar on his right cheek crinkled. "Y-y-y-ou! H-how did yo-"
"No time for questions. Follow me." the man demanded and turned to the cliffs where the water slapped against their sturdy walls. Tidus thought for a second, mouth gaped, then shrugged his shoulders and complied. He was just about to ask him where they were going but the man held up his hand to silence him. Tidus cocked an eye but said nothing. Only footsteps could be heard swishing in the sand and the cool spray of the sea slapping aaginst the rocksfor the longest time. The smell of salt hung in the air, and yet, another smell burned his nostrils also. He focused his thougts for a moment on the strange smell, so strong and very familiar, but he wasn't so sure that it was supposed to be there. The older man looked back at him and gave a toothy smile. The man's chocolate brown hair wavered in the ocean's breeze as he watched the young boy at how comical he seemed looked when he was actually thinking. The man laughed and scratched his back side. "C'mon. We don't have much time." he said then turned away again. Tidus jumped, startled from the deep reverberating voice of the man in front of him. Despite his age, he knew that the man was strong. He gave a quick nod and hurried to his side. Suddenly, he noticed that they were headed straight into the cliffs. "Watch where your-"
"Shhhhh!!" the man hissed and swirved to left right into the wall. BUt instead of them finding hard rock, they stepped through something warm and gloopy against their skin. 'Huh?' thought Tidus as he tried to open his eyes but finding it Futile for the time being. "Auron!" he screamed but received no answer. He began to panic then suddenly felt himself thrown forward. He could now open his eyes and felt himself surrounded in a length of pressure and water. Feeling as if he had slept for ages, he stretched his limbs and gave an undulating jolt. He was somewhere in the ocean but he didn't how he got there, or where Auron was. Pushing his arms and kicking his feet he swam for the surface then shot up, cascades of water droplets falling away from him. The sky, he noticed, was a peircing blue. He knew where he was now and he grew excited, too excited. His backside expelled a large portion of gas. He blushed as the bubbles rose and burst on the surface then swam towards the shore. A braod grin was splayed across his face then he gave a loud whistle. It reverberated through the air he continued to swim. The shoreline came into veiw, closer and closer. His heart beat excitedly with each stroke. Suddenly he could feel the sqiushy grains of wet sand between his toes as he stood up on the shore. Looking around the beach, his heart sank, he thought he was right back where he started until suddenly he heard a loud humming noise. He searched for the source of the noise until he saw what it was. He began to run as fast as his wet clothes and tired legs would allow. The door to an emmense airship hovered above, he could hear the loud hissing of the door open. He turned and to his heart's joyous suprise, it was her! He stopped running from the ship and turned around running towards it. The smile on Yuna's face made his heart jump into his stomach. He could only begin to feel just a touch of the happiness he would. She ran into his Arms and he lifted her high into the air and laughed. her reminded him of bells and her face reminded her of the lark in early spring morning. There were so many feelings swelling inside him that he thought he would explode. "Is it really...you?" she asked, her voice low and strong, but somehow diffrent. He nodded vigiorously and kissed her lips. She blushed and then looked deep into his eyes for what seemed like years. Tidus could hardly breathe from her beauty as she gave another bell-like laugh. "You've changed." he stated holding her hand as they ran along the shoreline toghether. "Well, you've missed alot." "Your going to tell me all about it, right?" She laughed again. "Hm-hm. Well, it all atrted when I saw this sphere...of you." Tidus listened intently as she ran over each deatail of what happend. He had a feeling that this wasn't the end of their adventures together.
