• The Sad Tale of Mr. Walker
Mr. Walker a great detective and all around man, is one of the most respected individuals in the city of Faith Point. Having lost his family at the hand of the infamous mass murderer Crazy Clint, Mr. Walker goes on the hunt to bring his nemesis back into custody. The more he learns about the murder the more he longs for revenge. Through this knowledge comes the greatest sorrow he has ever felt.
It was a dark and dreary night as Mr. Walker walked down the dimly lit hall where the interrogation room was located. He was about to make the biggest arrest of his career and he knew it. He was getting close to the door when he heard a tussle in the room. As he fought with the locked door he heard the window smash. At that moment he knew the infamous murderer Crazy Clint had just escaped from the room through the window. Instantly he wakes up and realizes it was only a dream as he looked at Cindy his wife of twenty years and began to think what he would do without her. She is pregnant with their second child, and he would give his life to protect his family.
As he laid there in bed his mind began to wander back to the days when catching the villain was easy and only took a couple of days. However Clint was a different type of villain. He is methodical, conniving, very intelligent and knows how to solve the traps thrown at him. It was difficult the first time to catch him, but now it would be nearly impossible. The worst part of this dilemma is nobody has a lead for Walker to follow.
The next morning Walker awoke and went to work hoping that his subordinates would have a lead he could follow and potentially catch this crazed murderer before any more innocent people were killed. When he arrived he found nothing in the morning paperwork and so he began his today. He left the precinct that night with great sadness. When Walker arrived home he was greeted by Cindy and his child James. Seeing them gave him a boost in morale but he was to bewildered too eat so he went to bed without spending more time with his family. Little did he know this would be the last time he would see of his family.
The next day it was the same routine. He hoped he would have a lead on the Clint. He had an idea that today would be different, and he would get some information on Clint. Just as he had thought the information he had been looking for came that night near ten o’clock. The papers gave the descriptions of the latest murders that Clint had committed. As Walker read the papers he began to sob loud enough as to let the entire station know what had come about. He was reading the details of his family’s death.
He ran out of the police station and down the street. His partner, and best friend, Paul followed close behind. When Mr. Walker finally stopped and allowed Paul to catch him, he was nearly in a state of shock. He finally found the words to tell Paul that Clint had found his son and pregnant wife and had murdered them in their home that day while he was at work. Paul was devastated, just like Walker.
The funeral service was held three days later. Mr. Walker would never be the same. He began to drink to hide the sorrow and pain he felt day in and day out. Three years passed before there was another lead on the Clint case, and Mr. Walker was ready. Since the day of his family’s brutal murder he had waited for the opportunity to hunt Clint down.
It took three years to finally track him down. He was staying in an old abandoned apartment building on the upper east side of north Faith Point. Mr. Walker now had his chance. He took this information and found Crazy Clint at his hide out. He snuck in the side door of the building, walked down the hall toward the apartment with the light on inside, and when he finally reached the door he threw it open and found Clint on the floor dead. At the sight of this scene Mr. Walker began to cry. This was not just any sobbing; it was a cry of pain he had wanted to see the man who had killed his family dead. At that moment Walker lost all feeling, and became inanimate. The warmth of the blood rushing from Walkers head was soothing to his cold clammy body and as he lay on the floor next to the man who had killed his family, he died. Before Mr. Walker knew it he felt warm all over, like the world could not touch him. In that moment he saw his wife and children and he knew he was finally at peace. It was only a few moments to Mr. Walker, but it was a day or two before he was found in that dilapidated apartment and once found he was pronounced dead by suicide. The funeral service for Mr. Walker was held two days from the time he was found, and he was laid to rest near his family.
Mr. Walker through his life following the brutal murder of his family showed the natural human emotion of pain and sorrow. The more he learned about the murders the more he began to show signs of losing his mind and self control. The sorrow of his family’s death began to weigh on his body and spirit until in the end he ended his life as he lay next to Clint.
