• tab "You know, this room is hardly conducive to sanity. It's filthy in here. The walls are this horrible gray color, like a rotting rat. And there's mildew everywhere! Makes me sick. And it's so cold. I am literally shivering right this instant. Brrrr. Concrete is not a good insulator. I'd like some socks, that'd be nice. Or shoes. Or basically anything so my feet don't get frostbite every time I decide to touch the ground. Ah, but I'm getting off-track. The point is, this place would not help a crazy person. There are more things in here to drive someone crazy than to cure them.
tab "Like the spiders. There are so many spiders in here. Imagine if I was scared of spider - an arachnophobe, if you will. Well! Being in this little room with my worst fear could drive me out of my mind. I'd start babbling, seeing spiders everywhere, feel them crawling all over my skin. Augh! Or I could go the other way. I could LOVE spiders. They could be the greatest thing ever, as far as I'm concerned. I might make them my friends. Give them names, organize them into little families, hold nice lengthy discussions with them, mourn their deaths. Yup, spiders could make a crazy person even crazier.
tab "Oh, not me of course. I'm not crazy. That's not what they'll tell you, but trust me on this. You wanna know how I know? Okay, here's the deal. See, they used to give me all these pills because they thought I was crazy. Well, about a week ago I stopped taking them. And nothing changed! If I had been crazy, I would have started, like, seeing things or something that crazy people do. But I didn't. Ergo, I'm not crazy.
tab "The next step is convincing them of that. I think the best way to do that would be… hmm, I'm not sure yet. I'll just ask my spider friends. Hah, just kidding. It's a joke. Humor. If I'm funny, I can't possibly be insane.
tab "Okay, that mildew is really irritating. You've gotta see this thing. It's shaped like… like… I don't know. Some kind of crossbred sheep-rabbit. And it's RIGHT above my head. I can't look away. It's just a darker gray patch on the concrete, but it's still… hypnotizing. Wow.
tab "Oh, the door. Hey, Mr. Orderly. What? No, there's no one in here. I didn't say anything. Yes, I've been taking my meds. All right, all right. See you later.
tab "Geez, the nerve of that guy. Barging in here and interrupting our conversation. And pretending he couldn't see you. So irritating, that guy. He might just drive me crazy one of these days."
