• Prologue: The War Begins
Two thousand years B.C.E groups of werewolves and vampires sprang up onto the earth and lived in peace with all of nature. One thousand years after the civiliztion known as the Underworld came in to existence their calmness was ruptured, because as the populations grew some began to believe themselves superior to the mere humans which they hid themselves from. Because of the conflicting ideas two groups formed, The Saints and The Heretics. The Saints were the vampires and werewolves that fought to uphold a sense of morality and preserve the rights of all beings. The Heretics like all people with beliefs of superiority sought to rule everything and everyone because they had power. Still no actions had been made in attempt to start a problem, but tensions were growing.

To keep a level of peace they started having meetings to decide the moves to be made by the Underworld. After a while however neither side saw a point to the meetings since they always led to fighting. But the elders that resided over them saw the gatherings as tradition, and to question an elder was to ask for immediate death. When the initial elders died and elders from the newer more restless generations were chosen the fights became worse, because the elders were not the voices of reason anymore, and nobody knew where to find peace. Then in the early 800 A.D. an expected and long awaited war started between the two factions. No one knew where to turn and find solitude. Steadily the war got closer to exposing the Underworld which had been able to stay hidden for eons. After a while though humans realized the existence of the werewolves and the vampires, but took no note to who was trying to save them and who wished to kill them. Hunters rose to the task of killing any and all Underworlders that they could find out about.

As it became a three-way war the humans started to realize that not all Underworlders were trying to kill them. Eventually they began to become friends, and in the late 1500’s they began to mate together. Only the Saints followed this path of kindness because of course The Heretics hated humans, so why would they coexist kindly with them? Eventually The Saints started to allow hunters to work for them and this really created hatred amongst the factions. There seemed like there would never be peace without the deaths of countless people, and the destruction of one of the factions. The main question was which side would be destroyed?
