• I glanced at him for the millionth time that day. So cute and smart. If only I had the guts to talk to him. He was looking down at his worksheet, the one that looks exactly like the one I already finished ten minutes previously. The math teacher had said that when we finished we could walk around the classroom and talk to people if we wanted to. So I decided that I would go talk to him. I stood and started walking towards him. The bell rings. Damn, well I guess there’s always tomorrow.
I walked towards my locker. My best friend Marcia--Or Candy as she insisted on being called--I wouldn’t know why, I never cared to ask--, was leaning against.

“Move it fat a**.” I muttered.

“Well that’s a blow to my ego.”

    “Just move Candy.”

She moved “What’s crawled up your a**? Let me guess, you finally got the courage to get up and talk to him, but just as you were about to talk to him the bell rang, am I right?”

“How the ******** do you do that?” I put my combination into my lock and swung my locker open.

“Magic, and I’m in your math class.”

    “Right.”

“Don’t worry Aubrie, I’m sure one day you’ll get the courage to talk to him before the bell rings.”

“Thanks for the pep talk, I got to get to work or boss will kill me.” I slammed my locker shut and walked away.

“Bye! See you tomorrow!” She paused. “And Edward Cullen is to real!”

    “Yeah sure whatever.” I muttered.

    KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

“Mom?” I drop my backpack on the floor. “Are you home?”

    “In the living room sweetie.”

I waked into the room to find my mother sitting next to man dressed in a navy blue suit. He was sitting up straight, glaring disapprovingly at me. What did I do? And who the ******** are you?

    “Uh, mom? Who’s he?”

    “Aubrie, this is my boy--fiancé.”

“Fiancé? I didn’t even know you were dating again!”

“I wanted to make sure he was the right guy before I told you.”

“I can’t believe you mom, you told me you’d never do this again!” I have to do something about this. I turned to the man. “Dude, I love my mom to death, but she’s a gold-digger, run far, far away from her.”

    “Hey!” My mom said.

“Are you serious?” The man said and then got up and ran out of the house.

    “Aubrie! You are so grounded!”

“I didn’t think he’d actually run away! Besides what‘s the big deal? Not like you can’t find another one in less than thirty seconds.”

“I think I might actually love this one. I‘m going to sort things out with James and then we are moving. We’re moving.”

    “What?”

    “We’re moving. Go pack.”

    “But-But--”

    “No buts.”

“I don’t want to move mom.”

    “Too bad. Go pack.”

    “******** you mom.”

“Do not speak to me like that!” She screeched “We are moving and that’s final!”

I shook my head and ran out of the house. I can’t believe her. This town is my home. I hate it here, but I don’t want to leave. Not yet, I’m not ready to leave. That’s the thing about small towns, you hate living there until your faced with the thought of leaving , then you hang on for all you’re worth. I can’t leave, I have to stay and get him to notice me.
Suddenly I was running down an unfamiliar street, I looked up at a sign. Rose Garden Drive. Doesn’t he live on this street? The house with the… I saw a house with a red door, I started running towards it. Please let me be right.
I stopped in front of the door and rang the doorbell before I could chicken out. He came to the door dressed in a red polo shirt and grey sweat pants. God, he looks hot. Wait, what am I doing here? I am so stupid.

    “Aubrie?”

I stepped forward grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulled his head down, and leaned forward, gently pressing my lips against his. We stood there for a second, then, slowly, he wrapped his arms around me. I felt his tongue against my lips, I parted my lips just slightly and his tongue slid into my mouth. I let go of his collar and moved my hands to his shoulders.

“Ahem.” A voice said behind him.

We broke apart and turned around. “Hi mom.” He said.

“Jason, why didn’t you tell me you had a girlfriend?”

    “I don’t.”

I stood on my tippy-toes and looked over his shoulder. A short women with long brown hair was standing in the entryway frowning, arms crossed, and eyebrows raised.

“Then why were you kissing the young lady you’re hiding behind you?”

    “I…uh…she…”

“It was my fault.” I stepped around him so his mother could see me.

“Aubrie.” He whispered. “What are you doing?”

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bother your family.”

“It’s okay. Why don’t you come in?”

“Actually mom, we were planning on going to go to the park.”

“Be back before dinner” Then she walked into another room.

“Come on.” He mumbled to me.

We started walking towards the park.

    “Jason?”

    “What?”

    “Are you mad at me?”

“No I’m not. Why did you kiss me?”

“Isn’t it obvious? I like you.”

“Besides that. What made you come to my house?”

    “Let’s talk about something else.”

“Fine.” He stopped. Grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. “Be my girlfriend.”

    “What?”

    “Be my girlfriend.”

    “Okay.”

“I know you don’t want to talk about this, but I need to know. What made you come to my house?”

“I’ll tell you one day, but for now, let’s just be happy.”

    “Right. Happy.”
