• This other form was mostly when Natara's skin turned pure night black and her eyes eerie silver color. Her teeth and nails still looked physically the same except for that they were much, much sharper. Her senses were also highly attuned.
After shaking the form off like she usually did Natara cursed and thought of the camera that was in her room just like all the other rooms. She sent a ribbon of shadows towards it and messing with the tape that it was connected to through the wires she made it look like her face had turned a little paler as if she felt sick.
Natara chuckled at the thought of it; maybe she'd get a sick day at the day's end. Her chuckle soon evaporated from the thought of being caught in that form. The Rogue Unit had specifically said that if they disobeyed their rules the other members of the unit would hunt them down like dogs and since she hadn't told them about her other form that meant she had broken the rules because she was supposed to have told them all her powers and so on but in the reports the other form had not been listed. All the Rogues together could kill anyone. Even Natara. This was also one of the fears that plagued her. One false move. One miss step and you become a nonexistent memory.
Sixteen years of memories were lost from Natara's mind. Now all she had were the reports from the SNO's background check that they had undergone when she had first started her job at the age of ten and the years worth of memories that she had now. Natara could only think of one thing to say to all this and that was losing your memories at the age of sixteen sucked.
Natara turned the song on her computer to "Aquarius" from Within Temptation and feeling a little better she began to relax.
After a few moments a small beep went off from the door being unlocked and Natara instantly dispersed into shadows, her body becoming none existent, and her soul-self, which was swamped in midnight black shadows, hid next to the door.
When the door opened no one was on the other side but Natara could since the gap in the room where all she could sense was death. Meaning a vampire, since a vampire has a kind of death aura surrounding them and when a person is sensing their aura they feel a gap of death where the vampire is.
(Naturally, a vampire would come and disturb my peace…. maybe I should wait and see what he does. This could be fun.) Thought Natara, watching from the shadows next to her desk on the right side where she'd silently moved to so as to have a better view.
The vampire stayed in his shadow cloaked state and rifled through a few documents in Natara's desk that held little value.
Surprisingly though after a few seconds when the song on the computer changed to "Angels" by Within Temptation the vampire showed a ghostly smile from within his cloak and said to himself, probably thinking that he was alone," Idiotic child, there are no such things as angels. Only death."
Natara rolled her eyes at the comment since it was being spoken through the lips of a man who had probably chosen to be a vampire from fear of dying. She walked over to him and kicked him in the stomach with an inhuman strength and he dropped his cloak and clutched his gut looking around in shock.
The thing that had Natara in shock was that his other hand had actually touched her arm in a reflex motion after the kick. Shaking off the unease Natara bent down and putting her hand under his goat-teed chin let the shadows disperse to become an actual body again.
The vampires eyes widened and in a gruff voice said," How the hell did you do that?"
Natara grinned and said," An achluomancer controls shadows thus we too can wear the cloak most of your brethren do. Now for a couple of questions of my own. Why are you in my office, why were you looking through my files, and why were you hiding under your cloak."
The vampire simply glared at Natara and that's when she felt the tingling feeling at the edge of her mind.
She laughed out loud and said eyes glimmering," You want to read my thoughts? Huh…for a vampire you’re pretty stupid." With that Natara let her boundaries, well just the front ones and not the ones that went deep into her minds secrets, go.
They washed over the vampire who started to grin thinking he'd penetrated her thoughts, he dug around sinking further and further into them, just looking for damning information.
That's when Natara started filling her thoughts of tombs, graveyards, mold, earth, darkness, and screams. Mostly everything that reminded a person of death which vampires had escaped and were forever running from.
The vampire's eyes widened in horror and he tried to escape her mind but found he couldn't.
Natara had a hold on him and now that he was scared and his barriers down she rifled through his mind looking for answers.
It seemed the vampire was a newer vampire only about fifty years after his rebirth. He'd been recruited after twenty years and was being currently blackmailed into coming here to the young achluomancer's office to kidnap her or just frighten her so maybe she'd be more hesitant to do her job.
