    Vampire Hunt

A figure prowled in the shadows. Deep, deep blue eyes glimmered in the dim moonlight in the forest. Teeth gnarled, the creature stared at its target; an unsuspecting deer. The creature was hungry, oh, so very hungry. It hadn't fed in weeks. It crouched very low, ready to pounce. Its stomach rumbled, ready to have sustenance. It let out a low snarl and pounced at the deer. The buck tried to get away, but the creature was too fast. She snapped the neck and bit into its neck. She drank the blood, closing her eyes slowly. Ah, blood at last. Once she drained it of blood, the vampire dropped the corpse and wiped her mouth with the back of a pale white hand. Elizabeth Montegue, sixteen-year-old vampire, stood and looked up at the trees before running off into the night, ready to feed on an other unsuspecting victem. She licked the excess blood off of the back of her hand and sighed heavily. She remembered what it was like to taste human blood. Such sweet blood that filled her senses. It gave her power that she had never experianced until that time. Then, she remembered whose blood she had taken that had given her such power. Elizabeth slowed, panting slightly and she closed her eyes. She wouldn't think on it. But, flashes of memory came to her. She stood over her parents' bloody corpses, and looked up to see her young sister, Elena, staring at her in fear. She wouldn't be able to keep the girl quiet without killing her. As the child turned to run, Elizabeth pounced and bit into her neck before she had time to scream. Elizabeth leaned against a tree, covering her face with her hands as tears filled her eyes. She had killed her parents, killed her beloved sister, and enjoyed it. She won't make that mistake again. She'll make sure of it. Elizabeth took a deep breath and decided to go home, in the solitude of the mountains.
