• A normal human. A royal elf. Forbidden love.

According to the laws of the high elf, humans could not enter their realm unless they have business as a messenger. Cassandra didn't care. She had followed the signs left for her by the unknown beautiful stranger. Her heart skipped a beat when she came to the door, it stood majestically in the forest, carved of ancient mahogany and some other wood of which she didn't know. She reached towards the intricate handle, known only to have been carved by the elvish. The metal was comfortable to touch, but she pulled away immediately after her fingers came in contact.
"Don't be such a wimp." She muttered to herself, closing her eyes. Her hand reached out, touching the handle but not pulling until she remembered the stranger's face. The door flew open, revealing what looked like a wall, but she knew better. She had heard of this, meant to trick people into thinking that there wasn't anything beyond. She took a step forward, pressing her palms through the barrier. She was greeted by the stranger, who grabbed her hand, pulling her forward. "Wha...Bu...Wh-" He pressed a finger to her lips.
"My name is Asrael, you are Cassandra, and you must be quiet unless you want us both to die." He whispered, pulling her towards him. She felt speechless, she could feel his breath against her ear. He then whisked her away, and into his kingdom.

Sixteen years later, two girls stood in front of the door, at the same spot Cassandra had stood many years before. One, Hailey, was pale, her skin was as light as porcelain, and her hair silver. Her grey eyes sparkled as she looked at the rising sun. "Soon, my sister, soon." She promised, preparing to transform. The sun finally broke into view, and a glow surrounded the girls. Hailey's skin darkened, freckles appearing across her flawless skin. Her hair became ordinary brown, and her eyes darkened until they were just green. On the other side of the deal, Hailey's sister, Saralia, became elvish once again. Her skin paled to the same shade of porcelain, but her hair darkened until it was blue-black, with a sparkle that no human's could posess. Her ears pointed, and her features became more pointed, more beautiful. Her eyes were the last to change, changing from green to sparkly amber.
"Come, and we will enter the realm of our ancestors." She spoke with the telltale accent of the elvish race. She and Hailey gripped the handle, and pulled.

And with that, Cassandra and Asrael's twin daughters, Saralia and Hailey, took hold of their destiny.
