• It was the night before the crash. It was a happy time for me, atleast until it happened. My boyfriend and I were happily sneaking out to a concert. My stupid brother just had to come along. He might be older than me, but that doesn’t mean that he can come on my dates. I might not be old enough to drive, but Jonny is! He’s my boyfriend, so he should drive! Well, this is the only way to keep my brother quiet.
We got to the concert late because of a stupid ‘hotdog break’ for my bro. He is such a pian! I hate him so much. It’s the total opposite for my boyfriend though. Jonny is amazing in everything. He has good looks, good grades and me! Thats what he says anyway. He is perfect for me. One day, it would be a dream to get married in a river side church with a honeymooon on a hill! We could go to millions of cocerts together!
Jonny and I were so tired, but my brother was drunk. We didn’t want to take the chance of a crash, so he drove. It was raining, but only sprinkles. In the back seat my brother lay, drunken as a doorknob. In the front seat was a blasting radio and two making out teens. That was the only good thing that came. It was a green light, so I had shouted to go, but I was wrong. It was a green light, but the music had silence the screams of a siren. Jonny had blasted off, but at the turning point was a raceing ambulence. The song Last Kiss came to mind as the car turned to a screeching halt. We stayed with minor injuries, but then the truck came. The lights glowed behind the everlasting smile of Jonny. My final scream has reached it’s highest pitch. My last thought was “Good bye.”.
I only remember waking up to two loving parents. As I rosee from the bed, they came at me like a flying bullet. Tears sprouted from my parents eyes. I had know idea why though. What had happened before? What will happen after? What is happening now? Those questions came from out of my throat and sudden;ydoctors rush in. More tears fall from those who are watching. Everyone looks a pitiful glance at me. No words come from anyone around. Suddenly a man pops from the shadow. He comes closer, closer, closer. I push him away at first look. Everything pauses for a second in time. My heart skips a beat when he spoke in a solem voice. “You, don’t remember.”
I stayed in the hospital for another week after the theorical accident. They say I had a memory lapse, so I may only remember some things. My brother was fine, but he had to stay in the hospital because of an alcohol overdose. He usually drinks, so it might have been him who crashed us. Well, I remember my friends. They were so glad that I had remembered, only because they might think that I might have acted diffrently. There is this one girl who says she’s my friend, but I feel like it’s a lie. I don’t know why, but the doctors didn’t say anything about the man at the hospital. Oh well, I’ll jhust forget him!
School was boring, as I expected. I got a lot ofhugs, but I also got many stares. At one point, I thought someone was following me.Well, that doesn’t change the fact that I have to walk home from school. It looks likeit’s about to rain. That’s a drag! I wanted to go to the strawberry field near my house. It’s so peaceful there! I don’t knpow why, but I thiink I have to go there everyday. A little rain won’t hurt! I might as well walk up there, the seasons almost over!
I found him again. The strawberries were full at bloom. There was an oak tree next to an old wooden swing. I didn’t see that before. Maybe the person in the shadows built it. Finally he stares at me. I walk towards him, but everystep made my heart skip a beat. Soon, might heart will give out!
I see his face in the dim of the broken clouds. “Did you really forget?”. I had no idea what he was talking about. The wind swifted his hair to show a bloody bandaid. It was old and useless. “Your hurt! Let me help-.” He grabbed my hand and repeated his bulging question. “Let me go, you’re hurting me.”. I tried struggling, but he resisted. “Did you really forget me?! Naomi!”
Windhadblown. Trees had ruffled. My lips were being swallowed by this strangers passion. I felt like this had happened before. The rain had started. We hadn’t let go yet. He held me tight, making sure that I didn’t leave him, of what seemed again.
“My name is Jonny Stein. Nice to meet you, I’m your boyfriend”
At first I thought of it as a joke, but the way he flushed red ad the way he wouldn’t let my wet hand go lead me to a poit. He took me home in his rental car. It seemed familiar. We slowly stopped at a red light. He looked at me and waved my hair. I glanced at the light and shouted that it was green. He blasted from his spot, but there was a sirenn going off near us. It might have been an ambulence, but he didn’t even try to slow down.
I remember something like this! “Hey, there’s an ambulence slow down!” I tugged on his shirt, he didn’t respond. We were turning when it hit us. The car twisted and I landed in an ebpny black surrounding. Lights showed a clip from before. It wasn’t from before, it can’t be. Before, the music wasn’t blasting, my brother wasn’t in the car either. It hit me right when I got dragged out. Omeone was holding me. My head was covered in blood. Jonny look at meand I looked at him. The same dream of marrying him poped into my head. That’s why it can’t end here. “I remembered”.
