The first night at the house was okay, one of us stayed up for two hours for birdwatch, in case the Vansheir showed up.

It was a little cold, but a little cold to us is like negative five degrees to a human. We’re weird blooded; our blood warms up on its own.

Anyway, we stayed up together until about one in the morning.

We didn’t talk much, until two-ish, when we went outside to get a drink of water. We were both really thirsty, and if we didn’t get something fast, we would drink ourselves.

We were hand in hand again, and occasionally looked at each other and said a few words. I had Kale’s song stuck in my head.

We finally made it to the creek, and we drank – a lot!

When we finished, Kale looked at me, with a devilish smirk on his face.

“What are you thinking?” I asked him with a hint of flirt.

He said nothing, but shot a grin out of the corner of his mouth.

He took off in a super speed sprint.

I tried to catch up, but I couldn’t find him.

“Up here!” I heard from a tall pine tree.

I looked up, and sure enough, Kale was standing on a branch in a huge fir tree. “Come down here!” I scolded him.

I saw his eyes and they were a dark color. “Yeah, sure!” he refused. He took off again, and I saw what he was doing.

    He was flying!

Luckily, there was a full moon out, so we could see where we were going.

I took off in a sprint, and unfurled my wings before I went in air, remembering what happened at the cave. The pain was really painful, and I didn’t want that to happen, ever again.

I jumped and flexed my muscles on top of my shoulder blades, to flap my wings.

I flew towards Kales voice, as he called for my name several times.

    Then I heard him scream.

My face went from a smile to an instant worried and angry look on my face.

“Kale!” I screamed. I saw him.

He was stuck in a tree!

I thought he was getting kidnapped by the Vansheir, or something more important than that!

He started to laugh, as he saw the worried look on my face.

I landed on the branch he was stuck in and slapped him on the shoulder.

He wasn’t even stuck in a tree!

He was just goofing with me!

    “Kale, you scared me!!”

He giggled. “That was the point!”

“I thought you were getting kidnapped by the Vansheir or something!”

He stopped laughing immediately, and quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, Lynnsheiko,” he looked worried. “I didn’t mean it like that, I was just playing with you.” He whispered in my ear.

I paused, to get him scared.

“Well,” I told him, “I guess I’m fine…” I crossed my arms and looked away from him, in a pout-like way.

His arms went around my shoulders, as if to protect me form falling. He gave me a kiss on the cheek.

    “See?” he told me.

“See what?” I asked him with a happy smirk.

    “We love each other.”

“Well thank you, Mr. Obvious!” I started to giggle.

He came to me and we kissed, on the lips.

We heard thunder and stopped. Then the rain came down by the sheets.

We flew back to the house, and took a nap.

But I mostly stared at the ceiling in wonder.

Our relationship just took a huge step, and I wasn’t sure if I was ready or not.

But I could tell that he was.
