• The memory of the story, of when Mitch told me the story came flowing back to me and even the mention of it. “Wasn’t that about her having a baby but the father gave no rights to the mother to having any rights to seeing her baby…Or something like that?” I asked, I racked my brains for something that this might be leading to, but I couldn’t figure anything out, nothing even remotely close.
“Yes, that is similar enough to the story.” Arial said in a sweet tone. “ Your father said you would be fine in his hand…” She looked at the ground. Her silky blonde hair hung below her chin.
I gasped; I tried to make since of those words. “There’s no way, my mother died, I seen her…She is an angle…. You’re not my mother!” There was no way… I had seen her, when I had to choose my fate, she was there helping me chose what would be best for me, what would be best for the world. “I seen her, she stood in front of me while I was making my choice.” I said only now I was laughing at the joke. I have to admit we did look a lot alike but she has strawberry blond hair mine was a deep brown, well that was before my transformation. Now I have black hair.
“I could see where you would think that she’s not your mother, but she is.” Mitch whispered to me and again the shock ran through, how could they pull this kind of prank on me? “Look I’m going to tell you of when I met Arial. She had just got off a hunt and was covered in blood, and usually after we feed you can’t tell any emotion but happiness, of accomplishment. Well when she started to walk from the human that she had taken the blood from she had sadness in her eyes.” He took a deep breath before continuing. It seemed like by him telling me this it was causing him some kind of pain. “ And then I heard her whisper one small but strong word. Samantha. She said it as a whisper, she never meant for me to hear it, in fact even where I walked up to her she still pretended as though I never heard it. As though she never said.
“I asked her what she had just said and she refused to tell me, but soon after time she had given in and had confided in me. She had told me that the second you were born your father had picked you up and walked right out of the hospital. She went back for you when the hospital let her out. The second that your mothers foot hit the door step of the house there was the pack of werewolves that had threatened her life many times before.”
“Get out, we have it from here…Your unneeded, go live your life, we will take care of the girl ‘Samantha’ she is in safe hands. And at 18 she can make her choice… That is what they all said and I knew what the 18 thing meant, they were going to kill you to save the world, but what I didn’t realize was they had one of their sons do it.” Arial spoke so softly in a sob. How could this be happening? My mother was dead…wasn’t she?
“Answer me one question, who was the angel? If it was not my mother, who was it?” I said looking at the floor refusing to look up at anyone for the main fact that I might start crying.
“Your god mother, my best friend…Fliecsha…”
