• I was leaving to go to school when I got the feeling that some one was following me. Chills were running up and down my back, and I was starting to get goose bumps. I took a shortcut down an alley and saw a shadow that wasn’t mine. Before I knew it I was running. I never knew I could run that fast. Without noticing I had ran all the way to school. I went to the bathroom to wash off my face and put my hair up. I met up with Callie and Seth to walk to class.
“I wonder what all the fuss is about. Do you two know?” I asked my friends with a curious tone.
“You mean you haven’t heard. Gosh Skylar, you don’t catch on fast do you? I’m starting to think you have no sense.” Seth replied in his own way.
“Seth you shouldn’t be so mean to Skylar. She’s smarter than you’ll ever be.”
“Callie, must you always take up for her? She knows I’m just joking, don’t you Skylar?”
I nodded my head to reply to Seth’s question.
“There’s supposed to be a new kid coming. We rarely get new students. We only get one every two years. All the girls are saying he’s beautiful and all the guys say he’s the best at every sport.”
“Well, I guess that makes him perfect.”
I wonder what he looks like. Does he have short hair or long? What color are his eyes? What’s his personality like? Is he kind hearted? But, the most important question is, why do I even care? I mean, I know I could never have a chance with some one as beautiful as him. I don’t even know what he looks like. I’m starting to act like Callie.
I took my seat in algebra class. I heard some cheerleaders in the front of the class giggling. It was really starting to get on my nerves. Some of them I can stand, but not these two. I don’t even know they’re names and I really could care less.
“Settle down, class is starting.” Mrs. Richards, my algebra teacher, said.
I was getting out my notes and when I looked up, there he was. The new student everyone has been fussing about. It was just as Callie had said, he was beautiful. His honey color hair shined as he walked into the classroom. His eyes were a soft blue color. Kind of like a periwinkle blue crayon. They were the same exact color of my pendant and my mother’s eyes. He was clean cut and dressed nicely. He was about five feet and eight inches tall. He was maybe two inches taller than me.
Mrs. Richards handed him his books and directed him to sit in front of me. Great, he sits in front of me. Callie will never stop telling me how lucky I am. He sat down and then turned around to look at me.
“Hello, what’s your name? My name is Lucas Smith.” Lucas’s voice was very beautiful and charming.
“My name is Skylar Nolan.” I replied as I raised my head. He was even more beautiful up close. He smelled wonderful. I’ve never smelled this smell before. It was very calming and relaxing. Sort of like an ocean breeze, only different. It is one of those smells you could imagine being in heaven.
“Skylar is a beautiful name. It is well suited for a lovely lady like you.” Lucas is very kind. Everything about his is perfect. His looks, his smell, his voice, and even his personality are perfect. Right that moment I realized something. Lucas is heaven-sent.
