• It's noon. The area around me smelled like trees, pine trees, and I enjoyed it. I have been living in Washington since I was five, so this place is my home. The trees, the lakes, the ocean, boats, ferries, all that good stuff.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Susan Anne-Marie Lucas. I was 16 years old when I met my bf, and it was a "love at first sight" moment. I have baby blue eyes, wavy red hair that has brown highlights in it, and pierced ears. I'm five foot seven inches and I live in the moment! I'm more of a tomboy; in other words, I can't stand dresses, skirts, make-up, the colors pink and purple, and cheerleading. I love the color blue, the smell of rain, baseball, and swimming.

    Anyways...

I was sitting on the sand, watching the waves lap on the shore on Puget Sound. The summer heat made living in the day unbearable, and everyone was swimming, except me, who didn't bring a swimsuit. After a few hours, I saw...him.

He was walking down the beach, talking to another boy. He appeared to be my age. His blonde hair was somewhat long and was getting into his face. His eyes were a deep emerald green and he had a nice, summer tan. He had nothing but blue swimming trunks on and he had a nice set of six pack abs. He glanced at me as he walked by, and silly me wore black basketball shorts, lime green flip-flops, and a neon yellow tank top. My hair, which was shoulder length, was pulled back into a messy ponytail and m bangs were in my face.

My heart started to flutter like a butterfly. My best friend, Tanya, sat next to me. She had brown hair that was french braided and a regular braid that fell to her shoulders. Her eyes were a hazel color and she wore a light pink bikini. She had gold studs in her ears and I know she had on make-up, but you can tell where the water had washed it off. Tanya looked at me and asked, "Did you see that boy? He was SOOOO hot!"

I nodded. "He looked at me as he walked by."

This got Tanya's attention. "Oh! Cool! You know what that means, don't you?"

    I shrugged.

    "He was checking you out!"

"Girl, I'm in a tank top and shorts."

"That doesn't mean he doesn't like you!"

I silently agreed with her. I would talk to that boy, even if it was the last thing I did.
