• -Chapter 2-

I looked in awe of all the brightly decorated lights and all the people who had turned out to come to the exclusive event.
"Well, are we going to just stand he and watch every one have a good time, or are we going to go get caught for under aged drinking??" Eric asked as he started toward the long pathway up to the house.
On either side of us as we walked toward the house were 4 foot high grape vines making the path a straight and creepy one.
    "Hey Van?" I said quietly.
    "Yes Iris?"
"Umm, do you see Nate anywhere yet?"
    "Nope. Why?"
"Im trying to avoid him, and if I dont know where he is then I cant avoid him, he'll find me befor I find him for sure."
    Eric started to laugh.
"What?" Me and Van said together.
"'Hey Nate you wanna beer?' 'Oh sure, wait...my Iris senses are tingling, she much be here.'" Eric started to laugh hysterically, I just rolled my eyes and rounded the corner of the left side of grape vines near the house.
I looked around at all the people, all either having cans of beer in their hands, red cups, or cigarettes, some all three. I chewed on the lips ring that sat on the right side of my mouth, [this was a thing I did when I was nervous]. After a few minutes I had enough courage to walk out into the crowd.
I felt a tap on my shoulder. It felt like my blood had suddenly stopped flowing through my veins. I turned around slowly to see Nate, his big white, perfect smile about 3 inches from my face.
"Hi, there Iris." He said, the cheesy smile still on his face.
"Hi, Nate." I said, not a hint of enthusiasm in my voice.
    He ignored it.
    "You liking the party?"
"Umm I just got here, and why are you asking me how the party is? Its not your party."
"Dans' my cousin, and I helped him throw the party."
"Oh... really?" I asked in shock.
I looked at Nate's perfectly tanned and smooth skin, short gelled back brown hair, yellow plaid button up shirt that he didnt bother to button up, his white undershirt, khaki shorts and brown working boots. Then I looked over at Dan, who was sitting in a lawn chair by the pool, alone. Dan had jet black died hair that hung completely straight in his face, he had a lips ring like me, he had ghostly white pale skin, a skin tight black shirt, some skinny jeans, and some black and red checkered vans. The only thing these two had in common was that they were both easy on the eye and both were reasonably buff.
"Yep, its sad that Im related to that little f*****t."
I grinded my teeth together to stop all the horrible words I wanted to say. So, instead of started a fight at someone elses party, I turned around swiftly and walked away.
"Hey, where are you going?!" Nate called after me.
"To talk to the little f*****t."
I walked over the lawn chair that Dan was sitting in and bent over slightly and tapped his shoulder.
I could fell under my fingertips that he had jumped and was a bit startled.
"Hey, Dan!" I said in a bubbly happy voice,
"Oh, hey Iris." He said as he turned his chair around to face me.
    "Sup?"
"Nutin much, just chillin, looking at all the other people as they run around drinking, falling, and laughing until they pee them selfs." He smiled.
"We you got your work cut out for you." I smiled back.
"Pretty much, so what brings you over to 'Emo Dans Castle of death?'"
I gave him a confused look.
"Ive been told thats the name of my house by about 30 people."
"What Jack asses." I said as I sat down, cross legged on the grass next to his chair.
"Ya, but I get over it, I was expecting it anyway."
"Well If you were expecting being ridiculed, why have a party like this?" I asked with a concerned look on my face.
"There, there was someone who, wanted to meet a girl, and we both decided that It would seem less mysterious if we just had a party instead of invite one person over."
"Wait a sec, Im so confused, whos trying to meet who?"
    "I cant tell you either."
"Uh, ok, well do you need any help with the party?"
"Well if afterward you want to help me clean up that'd be great."
"Ok, then I will." I smiled. "Hey wheres the bathroom?"
"Oh, its down the first all at the end, go past the stairs."
"Ok, thanks alot." I said as I stood up and ran inside.
Went into the side door into the kitchen. I saw the hallway right ahead. I walked into the hallways and noticed that it was pretty much deserted. As I walked down the hallway I saw the stairs, I went by them remembering that I was trying to find the bathroom. But then, out of the corner of my eyes, I saw something. It was like a person, peering at me from behind the turn in the stairs.
I back tracked to the stairs and stood at the bottom and stared up the stairs. The person was gone. The urge to go investigate was horrible. I slowly walked up the steps and rounded the corner. I could see the top of the steps and that was it, nothing beyond it.
I hurried to the top and looked around. I looked both ways, down the right and left hallway.
Down the left at the end, I saw the figure again. I ran down the hallway to the figure but it swiftly moved into the room next to it. The door read it big black letters, Dans room. I looked inside from the door and I could see the shadow of the figure. I quietly went inside.
    "Aha!" I yelled.
"But all that was there, was a bed, a desk, lots of posters and nick-nacks, and an open window, the black curtains fluttering about in the cold night air.
