• Violet kicked and bit and scratched with all the force she had. She had been the strongest in class, stronger then most of the boys too, but when Violet pulled her arm to punch the man in the face, he simply grabbed her fist and forced it down. He forced his lips on Violet’s, but it didn’t stop her from biting his lip. The knight screamed in rage and slapped her with a free hand. Violet could feel warm blood seep out of the corner of her mouth. She licked it and spit in the man’s face. This earned her another slap. The knight leaned over and whispered in her ear while Violet continued to kick and yell.
“No one’s going to save you. I know you are not from here, because any other maid would have let me have my way with them. And I have never met a girl so strong. I’m going to enjoy this quite.”
Violet clenched her teeth. This was way too much. She knew the Knights of the Round Table were mean, but never were they, abusive. She hated this place. She hated everything about it. And it was her own fault. She had been so caught in getting here, she didn’t even think of the consequences. Maybe if it were The Hobbit or Peter Pan she was in, this wouldn’t happen. She wanted to get out, now.
Violet could feel the f****** b*****d’s hand gently slither down her dress.
“Get away from me!” Violet screamed. She could feel her eyes watering. But she didn’t cry. Violet bit her lip; tried everything to keep herself from looking like a weak maid. The knight’s hand was touching her whole body, her torso, her sides, and especially her chest. And then he stopped.
“You’re not worth it.” He got off her and brushed off crumbs of cake and walked away from the table with most of the rest. Supper was over and maids and servants started to clean up the knight’s mess without even a though of the girl on the table frozen with rage and confusion. Violet slowly got off the table, then scooped up her sack without even stopping, then strode out without a word to Nathan.
    ************************************************************************************
She looks so angry, thought Nathan. He didn’t blame her. Knights tortured her and he did nothing. It wasn’t like he didn’t try, it was just that there were hundreds of them and he was just a boy. So he just stood there like an idiot. And he hated himself for it.
“Violet, wait!” Nathan ran after her.
He had to admire her bravery and strength. She had done what most men couldn’t do. She didn’t even cry when the b****** started to touch her all over her body. Nathan shivered at the thought. He had seen it all, he even saw parts of her body that should have been covered. Damn it, she is fast, thought Nathan. He sprinted to Violet as she ran out into the courtyard. She slumped by a small river and began shaking violently. Nathan touched her shoulder gently.
    “Violet-“
    Violet shoved his hand off.
“Get away from me! This is your fault! Get me back,” She suddenly started to cry. “Get me back now. Please…” Violet began to back away to a tree and huddle into a ball.
“Violet, you have to listen me. You can’t go back. Every story has a lesson to tell. We can’t go back until we learn it. That's why I stayed in The Hobbit for 70 years.”
Oh, how mortified Violet looked! Nathan could see the rage in her eyes. A single question was encrusted in her face. Why didn't you tell me? She stood up and walked towards him in long strides. Violet took one look at him, then punched him, hard.
    Nathan stumbled back with pain.
“What the hell was that for?” he shouted.
“For not telling me I may be stranded here for the rest of my life! That I may never see my dad again! For standing like a freaking idiot and saying nothing to me!” Violet shouted. She walked back over to the tree and leaned her head on her knees.
Nathan walked over and crouched next to and lifted her head up gently.
    “I’m sorry, OK?”
And he leaned over and kissed her.
