• Elizabith kept shifting her eyes from the capitan to the black ship, fealing that it might vanish into the fog. "Capitian? Is there something wrong?" she asked.
He ran to a small bell hanging from a rusted peice of metal from the mast pole, and rung it nervously. "Pirates!" he called " Pirates to Port!" he seemed really spooked. Then Elizabith remembered something that her tuter had said, Pirates were men who would ransack ships and take what they wanted. And when they were done they would take hosteges if they were worth it, kill the men possibly enslave some of the people but usualy sink the ship with the left over people and let them die so there were no survivers.
Elizabiths face grew grimmer with everything she remembered. She looked to Mathew, he had a determind look on his face, he was always too adventurest for his own good. The capitian came up to the two of them, "Mathew I want you to go to the longboats with Elizabith. If things go wrong I want you to protect her with your life and get her out of here." The capitian had never been this serios around Elizabith, her stomach twisted.
"Aye eye Capitain!" Mathew said. Then he took Elizabith over to the long boats and into the dense fog.
After what felt like forever to Elizabith, but it was more like 15 min. She started to hear thumps and gunfires. Cannons went off and screams could be heard all around the children. Elizabith tried to cover her ears but the noise kept pouring into her eardrums. Gunpowder and smoke filled the air. All this made her sick to her stomach. Elizabith started to cry against Mathew.
About 5 minets after the screams broke out a figure walked out of the fog and to the two. When it came out of the fog and into sight rang of the children Elizabith was shocked to see that it was a child no older than her and Mathew.
It was a boy just taller than Mathew, coal black hair, what seemed to be pale skin, and crimson red eyes. The boy wore all black but the most terifying thing about this boy to Elizabith was the blood red smears all over his cloths and face. His face was emotionless and plane.
He took a step twoards them. Elizabith clung to Mathews cloths and cowered behinde him. The boy sniffed the air and then smirked. "Go Away you have no bussiness with us!" Mathew barked at him. The boys eyes flashed with what appeared to be excitment but then went back to his cold stare.
" I do belive that you have no right to tell me what to do. Now who is that cowering behind you?" Elizabith dug her face into Mathews damp shirt. She wanted to dissapear and get out of here.
Mathew cletchned his fists. " You stay away from her, as I have no power over you then I do not have to listen to your requests either." He said in an orderly manner.
"hmmm I suppose but I am quiet thirsty and she smells especialy good, like a rare delicacy." the boy said keeping his composured self. The hairs on Elizabiths neck stood on end 'smells'? how could he smell her from over there? "But you truely are brave to stand up to a pirate especialy for your age or you could be very stupid."
Elizabith got mad at that statment Mathew was not stupid he was very well educated. Her anger got the better of her and she steped out from behinde Mathew and said " I do beleive that you are far too young to be qualified to be a pirate." She put her stuborn face on and put her hands on her hips as if scolding or besting the boy.
His face went into a mix of confusion and shock to the coment but soon enough he went back to an expresionless face. And stared at her intently. "Tell me do you consider yourself brave, lucky or are you not well in the head?"
Then Elizabiths mind caught up to what she had just said and then went back to hiding behind Mathew. Then he took a step to the side and one forward so as to make his way around Mathew and straight to Elizabith.
"Leave her alone!" Mathew said putting himself between the boy and Elizabith.
"Obviously you wont let me have what I want so how about a bargin? It will get us both what we want." The boy said with a hint of giddyness in his voice.
"How do I know you will keep your word?" Mathew said. Elizabith stared in shock at Mathew.
"On my word as a pirate, I swear that the girl behind you will not come to any harm from this ship and it's crew. And if I can help it she will not come to any harm outside the ship and crew. I will also let her go freely. But in return you stay with me and become a pirate." The boy said.
Mathew thought on it for some time, Elizabith was shocked. ' Mathew why would you beleive him? What would I do when I got away from them? Don't leave me!' Elizabith thought. "It's a deal!" Mathew said.
"Mathew no what am I supposed to do without you?? " Elizabith cried. The boy glared at her with both anger and hunger. He obviously didn't want her to change Mathews mind.
"I promised that I would protect you and so I will." Mathew said with a smile to her. Then he grabbed her and put her in the longboat. Then lowered her down into the water. "I'm sorry, "he said and tears went down Elizabith's cheeks. "Good-bye." he said with sorrow.
The boy with black hair and red eyes stood behinde Mathew. His eye's connected with Elizabiths and they looked like they were full of... disapointment and longing. It sent chills down Elizabiths spine. She turned her attention back to Mathew he had lowered her compleatly now. He look away and walked off in that direction.
"So long for now." the boy said and for the first time she had seen him, he laughed. It rang through her head locked in place. And the girl floated away in the boat. Staring at the ship that was supposed to be taking her to her uncles home so she could learn Italien.
Not too long after that the ship caught on fire. and the sparks lit up the foggy moring sky. Elizabith finaly fainted after her mind just realized that she wouldn't see Mathew again...
