• I always imagined my life as a book. And I wrote it. and when I died, it would close and be placed safely on a shelf that would send me to Heaven.

I'm at my friend, Lucinda's boy friend's party, Asmend. I don't know anyone here. They are all strangers. Lucinda is no where. My best friend, she is gone. Her boy friend is there. He keeps looking at me. I am very scared. She was supposed to tell me something tonight. Something about her boy friend. And what he was going to do to her at the stroke of midnight. It is 11:58. I picked up my drink. It was punch. I drink it. All of a sudden, I feel sleepy. I look in my drink and I see a pill that is disolving. I can tell it is a pill that helps people sleep because I am sleep deprived and I always take them. I fall asleep. When I awake, it is dark. The floor is hard and cold. I am in a corner. I sit up. I am so thirsty. There is a cup of a red liquid in the corner next to me. It didn't look like punch. The music that was playing at the party was stopped. There was no sound. The door opens and a flash of light seams in. It quickly closes and a light comes on. Lucinda and her Asmend are in there. Asmend smiles and Lucinda is standing with her back in a corner. I notice, Asmend has...fangs. "Hello, Avangeline. Welcome Back and Welcome to a New Race." Lucinda is not happy. "Lucinda?" I ask. She flinches. "Avangeline, are you thirsty?" Asmend asks. I nodd. He picks up the cup with the red liquid in it. "you know what this it?" He asks. I shake my head. "Blood." He takes a sip. "Refreshing. You should drink it, it will be the only thing you will drink the rest of your life." He hands me the cup but I dont take it. "Take it!" He says. I grab it. "If you want to live, I suggest you drink it." I smell it. I close my eyes. It is refreshing. I drink it. Delicious. I gulp down the whole cup. "That a girl." He smiles and walks toward Lucinda. She flinches. "Oh, Lucinda. I was going to do it anyways. When you said you were bringing a friend, I knew how much she meant to you so I didn't want you turning on her. So I had to turn her." He turned to me. "That was Andy's blood you drank." Andy was my boy friend. "You can never go back. Lucinda told you I was going to do something to her. And I did. I slipped a sleep pill in your drink and carried you here and made sure to lock the door. The screaming didn't wake you, did it?" I gave him a confused look. "Lucinda, smile for me." She looked away. "Lucinda!" He growled. She closed her eyes. She smiled petheticaly and fangs showed. I flinched. "What? You have them too." I felt them with my tongue. I was a monster. "We killed everyone down stairs and Andy happened to be here. We made sure to put his blood in a cup expecially for you." He smiled. "Like I said, welcome to the Vampire Race." And I felt my book of life close. And it wasn't placed on any shelf, it was dropped on the ground.
