• Trinity was walking through the lush green woods splattered with twilight’s caressing glow. It illuminated her pale skin with a splattering of light orange, almost like fire. Her brown hair was lightly tussled by the fragrant, blossom-filled wind. Her green eyes were almost looking like the sea with their depths as deep as her thoughts were. As she got to the laid down grass in a circle she always thought at she gasped at what she saw.
Lying on the ground she saw a boy about her age, a young girl, a black dog, and a pink round creature with snowy wings. The boy her age was rather lanky and lean. His silver short hair that came down to the top of his ears was a mixture of chunky and spiky. The young girl had long ebony hair and skin pale as the boy, who could have taken a literal meaning to white as a sheet. Then the boy’s eyes started to flutter open.
“What…happened?” he asked as he sat up and leaned his forehead into his hand.
“I was actually hoping you could tell me,” Trinity quietly said, her voice a little more than a whisper.
“Who are you?” he asked blinking his golden eyes at her.
“My name is Trinity. And I was wondering who are you and them?” Trinity quietly said as she pointed to the girl, dog, and creature.
“My name is Loki, the girl is Helenia, the dog is Fenrir, and the puffball with wings is Okyono.” He said as he pointed to each one. Then he lightly tapped Helenia on the shoulder.
“What the heck?” she grumbled as she sat up. Then she looked at Trinity with her cold emerald eyes as she said bluntly stated, not caring of the word’s effect on Trinity was. “Who is this wench?”
“Who are you to talk you little munchkin brat?” Trinity said as she stuck her index finger at the angered young girl.
“Helenia apologize,” Loki firmly said, his golden liquid eyes solidifying into a harsh glaring eye.
    “Sorry miss.” Helenia quietly mumbled.
“S’okay.” Trinity mumbled her face pointing down. Then Loki’s stomach grumbled, and Trinity laughed and said, “Hungry?”
“Yes…” Loki said as he turned to the side and started to turn a shade of pink.
Trinity laughed again and said “Well, I guess I could take you two out for dinner. We’ll just have to put Okyono and Fenrir at the house first.”
Loki and Helenia both nodded and picked up Fenrir and Okyono and followed Trinity. Trinity navigated through the thick green forests like a pro. As they exited they had no idea of the sky eyes watching them.

“Trinity, what is that?” asked Helenia as she slurped down a mouthful of miso ramen. Trinity winced. She hoped that they wouldn’t notice the crescent-shaped scar on her hand. The wound in her heart that matched the scar was still tender, even though it was almost as old as she was. She hadn’t thought about it in so long, that the flood of memories was as excruciating as walking on hot embers.
It was at night, cold and dark. Though not were she was. The hot fires were so close they were almost licking at her crib. Her mother picked her out of her crib and tossed her out the window to the awaiting police and firemen. Then she heard the cry of agony coming from her brother.
Trinity’s mind returned from the agonizing journey of the past.
“Trinity, are you okay?” Loki asked looking at her face. Trinity nodded. “Good!” Loki said as he smiled.
“Trinity, can I call you big sister?” Helenia asked after they had talked about a lot. Trinity looked over at her. Can…Can I be a big sister? Trinity thought.
“Sure!” Trinity said cheerfully. Helenia giggled and hugged her.
“You’ll always take care of me right?” she asked.
“Mmm-hmmm” Trinity nodded. After a longer while they walked back to Trinity’s house. When Trinity opened the door she gasped.
Her once spotless home was now a wreck. The curtains lied askew on the twisted rod. Her beige carpet was stained with potting soil and grape juice. The windows were covered in shaving cream and toothpaste. Toilet paper were wrapped around the ceiling.
Trinity stood speechless at the doorway.
“What are you gaping at?” Helenia asked innocently.
“That! What. Happened. To. My. House?” Trinity gawked.
    “Uh oh.” Helenia said.
“I’m sorry,” said a voice. Trinity looked down and screamed.
“Did that dog just talk?” Trinity staggered in her speech.
“You bet he did!” Okyono said in a high, almost annoying voice. Trinity eyes became saucer like and she stood there silently. Then the dog looked over at Loki.
“Dad!” he yelled and ran over to him.
“D…Dad?” Trinity exclaimed in a shaky voice.
“Loki, you might want to get her over to a chair. She looks like she’s about to fall over.” Helenia said as she looked at Trinity’s taken aback face. Loki nodded and took Trinity into the house and set her on a not ruined curtain.
“Loki, what is all this about? And I don’t want and wishy-washy crud, I want the nitty-gritty details about everything.” Trinity calmly declared as she looked unblinking into his golden eyes.
“Trinity…” Loki started, then sighed. “My name is truly Loki. I am in human form, but in my true form I am the Norse god of mischief. I had three children when I was together with Angrboda, a lovely and gentle giantess. The youngest was Hel, ruler of Niflheim now known as Helenia. The middle one was the great serpent Jormungand, who inherited my shape shifting abilities and is now Okyono. The eldest was a wolf who was and is known as Fenrir. We have been in utter darkness, unable to see each other. We came to Earth to be together. I am sorry we deceived you.”
Trinity blinked a couple of times and sighed.
    “Big sister,” Helenia stammered.
“Listen, I need so time to think.” Trinity said shakily. “This is still a lot to take in at one point in time. Plus it does sound a little unworldly…”
“Big sister, you’ll help us won’t you?” Helenia asked.
“I just don’t know Helenia. I just don’t know.” Trinity said. She stood up and left them sitting at the table looking at her back as she left.

Trinity was already weaving through the copious trees like the wind. She had promised Helenia that she would take care of her…but Helenia hadn’t told her she was a daughter of a god, nor had Loki told her he WAS a god. Still, did that make her promise still valid. The thoughts spinning in Trinity’s mind had made her unaware of her surroundings, or the skinny yet strong arms wrapping around her arms and stomach.
“What the?!” Trinity exclaimed as she felt arms tightening around her. She struggled, but was no use for the stranger’s strength. She stopped fighting after a minute when she saw a flash of silver and suddenly she was free of the stranger’s grasp. “L…Loki!” Trinity yelled as she ran towards him.
“Are you alright Trin?” Loki asked, his face plastered with concern. Trinity nodded and turned to look at her attacker. He had pale blue eyes the color of the sky and red hair that reminded her of the red rubies she used to look at in the store windows. “Thor, why did you come here?” Loki shouted at him.
“Ugh, ye didna need tae hit mae face sae hard ye great oaf.” Thor muttered as he stood up. He looked like a college student from Lumino University. His Irish-like accent was very apparent in his speech.
“Well, you did not need to hurt Trinity.” Loki retorted as he glared at Thor that would kill if looks could.
“Sorry lass. I was only followin’ orders.” Thor quietly said.
“S’okay.” Trinity said, her face looking down into the dirt and mud.
“Who sent you?” Loki asked in a harsh voice.
“Odin.” Thor replied. “He ordered me tae kill ye at all costs. Ah thought if ah took the girl ah could lure ye into the woods.”
“You know now that you cannot defeat me.” Loki said as he turned around. Thor nodded. “Then go back.” Loki commanded and Thor disappeared. Loki then turned towards Trinity.
“I am sorry that you had to get involved in that business Trinity.” Loki said as he walked up to Trinity.
“But, you guys are my friends! What else are friend for but to be there for each other?” Trinity commented. Loki looked at her with astonishment. Trinity smiled at him and took Loki’s hand and led him out of the forest and back to the others.
“So we get to stay!” Helenia yelled after hearing the news from Loki. Trinity nodded. Helenia was so happy that she jumped into Trinity’s arms. She giggled and laughed. Trinity smiled at her. It was nice to have a family again.
Trinity waited until everyone had gone off to sleep before heading out to the roof of her apartment. It overlooked the entire city and town. The moon was bright and clear, unchecked by the lingering clouds. She sighed and sat down Indian style.
“Came up here to think huh?” a voice from behind her said.
“Hello Loki…” Trinity quietly said as she looked at his golden eyes.
“The moon is beautiful tonight isn’t it?” Loki asked as he looked up to the white silver moon. Trinity nodded. Loki sighed and sat down beside her. A mutual understanding passed between them. Trinity laid her head on Loki’s shoulder. Loki stiffened for a moment, then relaxed. That moment in time they wanted to go on forever. A peaceful quiet moment in time.
