He took her to the top of a mountain and kissed her. The first one felt just like any other but by the third or fourth kiss she felt as though she had reeled off the edge of the cliff. Barely cognizant of the skin of their lips touching one to another, she was filled with the sensation of falling, spinning through the air. Instinctively she clung tightly to him for safety. His kisses were brief and when he stopped to look into her eyes the trees and earth around them slowly stopped spiraling.
Later that night, as they lay in two separate sleeping bags beneath the stars, she knew that even the bears would not dare disturb such a sweet peaceful feeling. The ants and squirrels did not bother them. A mosquito flew by but didn't bite her. He reached one arm into her sleeping bag and held her hand. She was grateful because if they had held hands in between their two bags her arm would have been chilly. They soon both drifted off into quiet slumber.
