• Chapter two
As I entered the vampire's home, I glanced around, expecting dungeons and coffins and moats. But no- It was a swanky urban loft, with a killer view from his apartment on the top floor. The man's name was Liam.
"So, first thing's first. You already know who you are, but you know nothing true about what you are. Correct?" Liam asked.
"I've just heard rumors..." I admitted.
"Okay, I'll cover the basics. I think you'll figure out the rest in time. We do take blood from both animals and humans. The only thing that kills us is silver, or a stab directly through the heart. But if you drain another vampire, you are unstoppable and completely immortal. Crosses do nothing, however, garlic, is another can of blood. It blocks our scent glands so we cannot detect you. It doesn't kill us. Newer generation vampires can't go out in sunlight after 2 hours of being a vampire.
"This is a custom ring, made by vampires. Wear it and you will be able to go in sunlight." Liam gave me a ring. A thin and simple gold band with an onyx gem, bloodstone gem, sapphire, and a quartz gem set in the cardinal directions. I slid it on and felt completely recharged. Liam went into the kitchen and returned with a gallon bag filled with blood, almost ready to pop. He handed it to me and a tingling sensation came over my upper jaw. I ran my tongue over my canines. They were pointy like fangs, sharp as needles. I pierced the bag of blood, sucking the blood out and moaning as the taste made my senses go wild. "Mmmm..." I moaned over the bag. It was drained in less than 20 seconds. I sat back, full. My senses felt super keen.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," Liam chuckled.
