    The End Is Nigh

    Chapter One
    The Rising of Geols

The sun shone bright as a heavily armored figure stood on a piece of floating earth. He stared down at the earth below, through the fluffy white cotton-like clouds. A chuckle came from within the depths of the helmet to this figure. "Alikist, Skatz, let us go..." He said as he turned to walk across a bridge, constructed from wood and rope. It's center dipped down, pulled down by gravity, somehow this bridge managed to survive over a hundred years. He crossed it with ease but his weight made it sway slightly, the others followed nervously, trying not to look down at the continent below them. They traveled to another chunk of earth that was floating, this one was a forest, they could see that it was one of the largest pieces of the flying city. Wolves did exist in this forest, along with other animals, it was odd how they managed not to fall when they came to the edges.
The forest was a bright green, the trees and vegetation were healthy. "Geols, what if the aviants are stronger than we think?" Asked Alikist. Alikist was thin and pale, he carried a coiled whip on his hip and a sword on his back. His face wasn't so pretty to look at, it was long and his features seemed stretched. Nobody would've assumed he was strong, he looked weak, but him and the whip spelled instant death for others. His eyes were a plain black, his hair was white and silky.
"They're not..." Geols said back as he searched the trees for spies. So far there were none, they must not have seen the dragon as they came in. Skatz chuckled at that. "Poor little oafs will fall to us..." He said as he observed his metal claws that he was feared for. They were razor sharp, it was like a glove, metal claws came from the knuckles and even sharper claws were attached to the fingertips of this glove.
After a while of crossing bridges and walking through various places, the three finally came to a market district. People stopped and stared as they entered. Men and women stood around with baskets filled with vegetables, fruits, and bread. Their eyes were focused on the three, guards seemed to be absent at the moment but in a moments notice a few came around, staring Geols, Alikist, and Skatz down. The guards looked like elves, but they had white wings and mini wings on the back of their feet. Feathers trimmed their ears, they were aviants. Their armor was gold and silver, in chains and plates that armored their torsos. They wore white fluffy pants that traveled down their legs into golden armored boots. Their silver eyes didn't seem to leave the three.
With a chuckle, Geols walked into the center of the town, he unsheathed his massive sword and looked around the town, people caught onto his intentions and began to flee to the buildings. Others stood dumbfounded and watched as Geols raised his hand, a bright light formed in the palm, blinding some of the people. They shielded their eyes and crawled away in a panic. The aviants flew into action, their silver eyes now glowed blue, they charged at them at full speed. Alikist let out a chuckle of enjoyment as he charged forward and snapped his whip at one, it coiled around the aviant's wing, with a powerful heave, Alikist twisted it, a gruesome crunch was heard as the aviant's wing broke from the whips grip. The aviant roared in pain as he went crashing into the ground in front of Geols who lifted his boot and brought it down on the aviant's head. A loud crack was heard from Geols' foot as he did this, he searched for another aviant, he spotted one swooping down at him, in it's hand it held a sword, this sword glowed red as it raised it to strike. With a chuckle, Geols threw out his hand and slammed it into the Aviant's chest, the bright light in his palm burned a hole there. "Aaaargh!" The aviant guard roared as he began to cough up blood and finally died. Geols stood under him, holding him up with his hand that was punched into the guard's chest.
A small boy was hidden under a fruit crate, his brown eyes watched the bloodshed in horror. Caillous was his name, he was about ten years of age, he had brown hair that came down into his eyes, he was normally a cheerful boy except in moments like this. He watched as the two smaller minions cut down the innocent people, he had to do something. With all of his strength, he threw off the crate and charged off towards the bridge that led to the castle, people followed him. His mind was racing for an effective plan, the guards at the castle door were opening it, he could see it from the distance. "Run to the door!" He said as he pushed some of the women and children. They began to run, the three villains seemed to notice them and began to make their way to him.
Caillous ran after the people, he continued to search around then noticed a log on the floor, he grabbed it and ran. The people pushed and shoved to get to the door, some nearly went overboard. Finally, they reached the forestland before the castle entrance. The people flooded before the door and went inside, the guards helped them in. Caillous stayed behind in front of the bridge, he could see a pregnant woman trying to make it across the bridge, the three were catching up to her. He rushed across the bridge and took her arm and helped her across. Soon they made it across the bridge, the three were on the land, proceeding towards the bridge.
"Father, I know you told me not to...but this is important..." He mumbled as he closed his eyes, he grabbed the tip of the log he held, the sun runes appeared on his body, the log caught fire and he opened his eyes once more, looking at the heavily armored man. He lost all control of himself, his eyes glowed purple. "You..." He said as he pointed at the armored man who stopped dead in his tracks. "Shall pay upon my return..." Caillous snapped back into reality, he had fainted. Without thinking he set fire to the bridge, not knowing he was just possessed by another spirit. The bridge burned, a brilliant orange and red. Sparks flew into the air and the wood snapped. He watched as the bridge broke into pieces and collapsed, falling to the earth below. Caillous stood behind these flames, his now amethyst eyes fixed upon the three men. Geols immediately registered this image, the runes, the eyes...he was an itenian, not a normal one, a chosen one...the possession of his small body...the son of the demon demigod, Rodey. Alikist growled and hissed, he was about to snap his whip to get Caillous but, Geols grabbed his arm and stopped him.
"It wouldn't be wise..." He mumbled. "We have most of the city, it's all that matters right now...go set fire to the buildings." He said as he eyed the boy.
"Yes, master." Alikist said as he and Skatz walked off. Geols stood where he was in silence, pondering what he had just heard. Rodey was going to rise, to bring judgment upon him, and upon the world.
"So be it, brother..." Geols said as he turned to walk away.
