• One day, a beautiful girl named Alice walked on the street past Prince Jonathan. You would think that Prince Jonathan and Alice would fall in love at first sight, right? Well, not in this fairy tale! Jonanthan did not even glance at Alice. Why would he? She was one of the poorest girls in the kingdom. Yet she was the fairest and most beautiful girl of all.
On Jonathan's birthday, his father said, "Jonathan, you need to get married so that you can take over as king when I die. I have already chosen a girl to be yor bride. She is a very poor girl, yet her beauty is overwelming." Jonathan did not like this idea at all! "Father, I am not marrying a poor girl! She is beneath me and it will ruin my reputation to be seen with her!" Jonathan yelled at the king. But, the king had his way and Alice and Jonathan were married the next month.
Alice was going on her daily walk in the gardens when she knocked over a pile of tools beside the gasrdener. "Oh, I am so sorry! Let me help you pick those up." Alice said as she bent down to pick up the tools. "No, no. You are the princess. You do not have to pick them up." the gardener told her. "Please don't remind me! I hate having to be married to Prince Airhead." Alice told the gardener. "He does seem horrible." the gardener replied. "What's your name?" Alice asked. "My name is Marc." he replied. At this point, Alice and Marc both reached for the same tool and their hands touched. They looked up and stared into each other's face for a while. This was love at first sight.
Marc and Alice spent whatever time they could together. Alice often snuck away to help Marc in the garden. One day, Jonathan began to realize what Alice was doing when she disappeared for hours on end. He cornered Marc in the garden with his soldiers and threw him in the dungeon. Then he forged a letter from Marc to alice telling her that he didn't love her anymore and that he was running away to marry her sister. Alice was so heratbroken that she locked herself i nher room and wouldn't eat or sleep for days. She just stared out the window at the garden in misery. After 2 weeks, the sadness became so bad that she ran down to the dungeons that she thought was empty. When she began to sob, she heard a farmiliar voice ask her, "Are you okay?" She began to run down the rows of empty cells until she found where the voice came from. "Marc! I thought that you ran away to marry my sister. Why are you here?" Alice asked without taking a single breath. "I would never leave you. Airhead locked me down here when he saw us together in the garden. then he forged that letter to you. I love you to much to leave you." Marc told her quietly. "I'll be right back. I know where the gaurd keeps his keys." Alice said. On her way to the gaurds office, Jonathan blocked her way. Alice told him that she knew what he had done and she used some words that aren't in my vocabulary yet. then she knocked him on the head with a shield hanging on the wall. He fell to the floor in an unconcious heap. "Serves you right." Alice said coldly. She ran into the office and took the keys off the hook on the wall. She went back to Marc's dungeon and freed him. They escaped from the castle and went back to Alice's old village. They had a wonderful life together and the lived happily ever after. Until the war, but that's another story.
