Anemone stared out of curiosity at the people before her, it was the beginning of December yet in this village people had been celebrating halloween, Winter had explained that his village was named the Village of the Gods. "If I was the founder of this village I would name this 'The village of the Odds," Anemone told herself. Still she was beginning to believe that she may have enterd a different world instead of her old one, the earthly planet she was born in, her kind was shunned for their mysterious abilities yet out of all them she had turned out to be the most powerful the memory of her parents were like a frozen ice window no matter how hot she made her fireballs and threw it at them it would still remain the same cold, mysterious, and distant.
    "I told you!"
The sudden voice brought her back to reality- at least for her so far. The voice had came from a girl her age with jet black hair and carmel colored skin her pretty brown eyes glowed like honey combs she was talking to a unusual boy orange pumpkin colored hair gold eyes with the same coplexion as his companion. "I told you," the girl repeated. "To make a jack-o-lanteren not jack-a-lantern!" The boy stared at her amusingly but reluctantly returned it back to a litter girl dressed in a fairy costume. She scowled at him and he narrowed his eyes to slits making his skin redden frightened the little gal gave a yelp and sprinted away from him accidentally tipping a jar of apple cider onto a lad who was (Anemone concluded) sitting beside his lover. She however had not seen this accident and when she turned her attention back onto him was disgusted to see golden goop splatted on his crotch. The event reminded Anemone of dominoes. The girl with the brown eyes' gaze had shifted to Anemone up to her silver hair and green eyes then down to her blood red cloak draped over her along with her family crest pinned to it. "And what are you suppose to be?" The girl asked. Anemone opened her mouth startled to tell the truth but instead she sighed remembering that it was Halloween here.
"Why I'd ask you the same."
The girl made the same hesitation and then both the girls laughed it seemed that she to had her own little secret. "I'm Blanch, Blanche Vine," the girl replied. Anemone shook her hand. "My name's Anemone." Blanch waved beside her. "This is King."
    "Nice to meet you."
    "Yes,yes you too."
Blanch smiled then it drooped like a swan diving into a pond as her head whirled around to face King. Her face paled. "Waitaminute," she began. "Did you just talk?!" King sighed. "The story of how these to met eachother I bet is a mystery, but I'd like to hear it," Anemone thought. Then a shocking realization slapped her almost causing her to keel over as she too went pale. Where was Winter?
