• Nothing

    - no thing; not anything; naught: to say nothing.

Listen closely, my little friend; for this is my story about nothing at all.

I have no stories of great battles between good and evil, nor of the hero who saved the princess in the tower and slayed the mighty dragon.

I will not tell you of the old fairytales, of the sleeping maiden hidden in thorns, neither will I tell of the beautiful girl with skin as white as snow.

No mention will I give to the tales of the animals with the gift of speech living in the forests of yore.

No, for all I will share with you, my little friend, is reality.

And reality does not consist of dragon slaying heroes, of true loves first kiss, of good and evil and talking animals.

Reality does not consist of only black and white. In reality the dragon feeds on the broken corpse of the hero, the poison apple kills it's victim, the thorns tear the princess asunder and animals care little for anything but survival.

And so you ask me, with innocence in your eyes, what story may I tell without these elements of lore?

Without fantasy there can be no real stories, for reality makes for a pitiful fairytale.

And so, this is my story about nothing at all.
