• Back in High school, I had my share of experiences. One time, during the beginning of my senior year, I decided to go out and take a picnic for lunch with some friends. It was the beginning of October, and starting to get chilly out. But the day was nice enough to warrant a picnic.

Our group was as follows. Me(my name is Chad), and my friends Caty, Danielle, and Shaun. Keep in mind that while we were very close friends, I did have a crush on Danielle. So I wanted to look especially cool in front of her.

Unfortunately, things have a way of not going as I'd hoped. sweatdrop

We all sat on some rocks by the edge of the riverbank. The river was flowing fairly slowly, and we sat there in peace. We talked and laughed about life in general, adolescents just having a good time. The sun shone brightly in the sky, and I smiled at Dani.

Caty looked at her camera and grimaced.

"One shot left... I dunno what to shoot."

Shaun looked over at her and shrugged. She sighed and pointed it at the sky. I heard a click, and she set it down.

    "Well, that's over."

As she said this, I picked up a pebble. I had been skipping them, but I decided this one was worth kicking. I tossed it up, and pulled back to kick it..

The next few moments happened in slow motion. I swung my foot upwards, and I saw the pebble go flying. Unfortunately, something else went flying too. exclaim

My shoe went soaring into the air, deep in the sky. My expression changed from awe to dread, as I saw it coming back down. It was heading for the middle of the river. It crashed, cataclysmic and surreal.

My only thought was "...That seriously didn't just...happen, did it?!" eek

Caty and Dani's faces lit up. They both had their mouths open agape and exclaimed in unison.

    "Oh my...God..."

    I panicked. gonk

    "Guys, what...what should I do?!"

Shaun scratched his head, and snickered.

    "I guess...you're gonna have to go get it." 3nodding 3nodding 3nodding

I touched the water. Freezing. I stared off at the shoe as it began drifting down the river. I had to make my decision fast.

"Yeah, but...I mean. If I go in with my clothes, I could catch pneumonia or something!"

Dani looked at me in an incredibly coy manner. She smiled in an almost predatory way, and feigned an innocent look.

"I guess that means you'll have to take your clothes off."

    This was not good.

I was incredibly body-shy, and the thought of getting naked in front of them was so beyond my comfort zone, that I was ready to hyperventilate. crying

    "...All of them?"

Caty and Dani both giggled. I looked at Shaun, who shook his head.

"Dude, go in your boxers. It's like going half-way." idea

Wise alternative. I would just have to suffer soggy boxers for the rest of the day. I felt embarrassment shoot up into my face...but there wasn't any other way.

    "Damnit...ALRIGHT!" I yelled.

I hastily pulled off my shirt, and took of my remaining shoe and socks. With the girls gawking at me, I bit my lip, and pulled my pants down. redface

I stood there, in the cold October weather, only in boxers. I stared at my shoe as it lazily drifted by. It wasn't too far off.

    "Hold on..." The girls said.

"What?!" I barked, and I looked back at them. Then I noticed them staring. Their gazes went up and down, taking in my body. xp

I'm in fairly good shape, but I felt like a piece of meat getting stared at like that. I made a face, and shook my head.

    "Perverts... Okay, here goes." scream

I waded in the water. It was icy cold, and soon after my teeth began chattering. I was trying to navigate my way to the shoe. It was slippery, and the rocks soon gave way to my body. I fell in completely, my whole body was wet now.

    "CHRIST, it's cooooold!"

    Laughter.

I ignored it, and went after the shoe.

    Then....IT came.

Shaun's voice seemed to come too late, but I did manage to hear it in time.

    "DUDE, DUCK!"

I bent down, but as I looked around, there wasn't anything..

    "NO, DUCK!"

I turned around and saw a duck flying towards me. For some reason, this possessed webbed footed beast had it out for me.

"Quack! Quack!" it croned. It landed in the water, and began swimming around me. eek

"Arghh! Jeez, what the hell!?" I moved to avoid it. It chased me around, and I screamed at it.

"GO AWAY, you stupid DUCK!" scream

Caty, Dani, and Shaun described it later as one of the funniest things they had ever seen.
    blaugh blaugh blaugh
I managed to grab my shoe, dodge the duck, and make it out of the freezing water. Out of breath, I crawled onto a rock, and stood there glaring at the duck.

Caty pulled out her camera in excitement. Then, she remembered that she shot the final picture already. Of the sky.

"NOOOOOOO! Oh my god, that was so funny..I'm seriously going to cry right now. I can't BELIEVE I USED THE LAST PICTURE!!!" gonk

I stood up, sopping wet. As I picked up my shirt, I noticed Dani and Caty both staring at....my crotch. My boxers were clinging to...my appendage. burning_eyes

    ...

    "What?! It's cold out!"

    "Oh, no..it's not that...you're just....bigger."

    "What?" My eyebrow raised itself.

Caty finished Dani's sentence for her.

"You're.... BIGGER than we thought you were."

My face went crimson, and I wasn't sure to take it as a compliment or an insult. I threw my shirt on, and went to pick up my pants.

Shaun started snickering, and then it grew to a full out laugh. I was a bit angry, but soon I started smiling. I couldn't believe that just happened. I laughed it off, and eventually Danielle and I did end up dating. heart

    Point of the story? None.

But it's a cherished memory that I will never forget. It's one I can look back on and laugh at, even if it's one of my most embarrassing moments.
