• I sit here with my bowed head
Holding my helmet searching for my face
I hear the music blasting and the boys in the locker room banging around
While I just sit here searching for myself
Interrupted by "Helmets on" shouted like we were at war
I pull my hair back and slide on my cold helmet
The door opens and we flood out tapping the sign above the door "winners"
Leaving the warmth of the locker room there is a rude cold Friday night awakening
Exiting the door the band is loud as ever and the crowd is well the crowd
I line up to start the two rows of men and I take the hand of my teammate next to me
I begin to walk and you can here our spikes against the concrete in sync
As we walk the crowd become louder the band becomes louder
Walking around the corner I raise my head to view upon the gleaming lights of the stadium
The guys behind start to shout and holar
I let my teammates hand go and begin jog; my heart starts to race
We storm through the gates and enter the stadium while the crowd goes wild
I stop in front of the field as my boys circle around
Men are jumping around and screaming for glory
I look back to when I was in the locker room searching for myself
I realize this is who I am
    I am an athlete
    I am a teammate
    I am a leader
